Just obtained a set of wheels for track work, Raceline RL7s, 18x9" rears and 17x8" for the front.

I'll fit Triple 8s to these and R1Rs on my other road set.............eventually.

You`ve obviously made the decision to keep them then. They do look great.

Am i right in thinking you cant buy these new now, or can you, as that wheel looks very new to me.
Yep, gonna keep them.

I just bought a set of 4 RL7s x 17" x 8" and 2 RL7s x 18" x 9" from a griff owner.

The 18"s are like new!

I had a good result at Surrey RR yesterday, 356 bhp, 390 torques and perfect fueling.

Interesting as this engine was built about 7 years ago, (even though it has done only 3K) as to how it compares with a similar 5.5 engine built at about the same time for a griff owner, Topsparks I believe.

I found his graph a few months ago.

You may have seen Ians, (RoseyTVR) graph built for usability but again not dissimilar but approaching the concept from another angle, (throttlebodies). Was it a 5.4?

I got to say, Ian TBs look the business and win the pub pin up!

Interesting graphs Richard.

At 6K we're developing about the same torque and power.

Cam wise yours is developing more torque as the power rises, generally speaking.

Mine has more midrange, possibly due to a milder cam.

What heads have you?

Can't remember my cam, H404 or H414? H404 I reckon scratchchin .....shout Rob.

Soooooo, ours should be fairly equal at speed on the track.

Richard, considering your cam is as you say and mine's an H404 then your torque figure doesnt make sense to me.

It gives you very good results but I'd just like to know why?

Getting a pair of 235/40/17s for a pair of front RL7s next week.

Hopefully will compliment the rears nicely.

With a bit of tyre changing that will leave me with a set of R1Rs from my Image wheels on a set of 17"x8" Rl7s for the road set.

Little bit of work today. Fitted an Elise seat that I had in the loft for next weeks TD. Made good around roll bar and fitted back carpet.

Made up and fitted guttering splitter.

Ride height is 170mm at the rear and needs lowering 10-15mm. I'll test at Snetterton first as is.

Bloody eck, them magnetic tyres work well!

This ones for you chilli lad.

Just fitted my old catch tank in a new position.

Hoses taken from each rocker box to a Y piece and then to tank. Tank vented through a K&N filter.

I'll buy some ally plate to remake the top brackets at some time to replace the crappy steel ones I knocked up.

Maybe i am missing something. But how will that exploit the crankcase pressure?
Nothing missed.

It just vents both rockers.

It's a work in progress and time is tight to sort out a better deal before next Saturdays TD.

I have another vent to fit in the system from the dizzy aperture but not now.

What is wrong with the original setup ? I thought the throttle disc gets lubricated by the breather pipe.
I believe problems occur during TDs and with high performance engines.

When the engine is running flat out for long periods, oil can be drawn into the plenum and certainly a lot of oil mist can escape through the mushroom vent.

I cut of the top of the mushroom and took a hose from there to a Y piece and then to the catch tank.

I agree about pull but need to experiment further in the next few weeks.

No, it sealed.

As far as I know it's just a tank.

It does it's job, when I tried a different configuration on the 4.6 it filled with oil !
