Just ordered an alternative kit from Hans ,300mm discs ,same calipers ,different bracket and larger pads to cover the disc .
I`m just hoping they will fit under my road front wheels which are 16" Pro Race 1.2 .n
The 300 mm Kit is about the same price .
I`m going for black with Yellow etched TVR on the caliper .

I just thought I would add my 2p worth for those seeking larger front discs with the standard 15inch wheel.
I am running 298.5mm discs which have been on the car since 2001 with the standard rear brake set up, and offer powerful and great feel, which I guess is the most important bit.
They are Wilwood 298.5mm x 31.8mm directional vane rotor fitted onto bespoke aluminium bells and using Superlite 4 pot caliper with braided hoses.
Pads are Mintex fast road, apart from the dust problem have never had any issues. Have used in the past harder track pads, but changed because of the need to get some heat into the brakes was a concern for the road.

Daz, don't you mean "used, old stock" since you've had them fitted for a few years !
Yes only a couple of years but they could be 20 years old if removed from a car ,or even worse cheap pattern ones .Just answered your question but the Piston Heads Police have removed it . would you like me to PM you ?

He mustn't be selling now. I've been looking out for a pair of these.
Daz wants £200 for anybody who is interested. However, saying that. I've just picked up a complete pair in good condition for £50inc delivery off 'The Bay', so they are still out there, some of which are refurbished. I'll refurb the seals myself and the pistons if necessary... nice little winter project. However, I've read that they may need shims and wondered where to get them from and which ones to get?

Yes but my calipers /carriers are only a few years old ,they were bran spanking new in greaseproof paper when i purchased them .However, I've read that they may need shims and wondered where to get them from and which ones to get?
I have a new set of quality Delphi road pads and a set of EBC yellow stuff pads with very little wear ,these are not cheap .Discs are showing signs of wear but still useable .
Also front braided hoses and all the nuts bolts and spacers to complete the kit . Tell me where you can get such an upgrade for that type of money ?

That was my setup until....... Hispec 6pots, custom bells and grooved discs with cl pads and what a difference, but like all things at a costI am running 298.5mm discs which have been on the car since 2001 with the standard rear brake set up, and offer powerful and great feel, which I guess is the most important bit.

Brakes is something you can't do on the cheap, especially if your tracking your TVR regulary . l have 16's on the front so managed to get the AP caliper and 300mm discs fitted like you at a high cost. But l can feel safe in the knowledge that my car will stop quick when needed!!. Trying to get a bargain off flea bay may sound a great idea but is false economy. ls your life really worth afew extra hundred quid?!!

Is there a Hispec 4 or two pot available to fit straight on the rear 273 vented discs?Hmmmmmm, I think what I understood finger tight to be (or what I was told when originally talking to the brake line guys) was "use fingers (not palm) on a very short (ie bleed nipple) length spanner".
But after a google survey it seems that most people think finger tight means "no tools used"!!!
The trouble with 1/8" NPT is it deforms as it seals but can be overtightened with a long spanner, and a torque figure is hard to pin down.
Use "light/medium torque with a short spanner, feeling as you go" as the rule!
