Hi Richard
Just so you know, this thread is a two years old resurrection...
I was just looking for an update off Simon regarding his use of the Modine...
All good Richard does exactly what I expected have used them previously on fast Fords back the day so bit of a known quantity, knowing how quick the coolant warms on these motors nice knowing its also being transfered to the slower warming oil too ..... bonus Just so you know, this thread is a two years old resurrection...

Thanks for your reply SimonI have the plate but no adaptor, what adaptor did you use to connect to the block/oil pump and oil filter and what oil filter did you fit?
I found a picture on the internet to identify the part I think I need:-

Close but looks a little shorter than the one in your photo? .............. clicky
I just measured the the length of the hole in the sanwich plate, its 2" long, I'm assuming the adaptor needs to fit the full 2" inside the adaptor plus the thread? The sandwich plate I have is the larger Coswrth 4x4 version....
I'm assuming this one in your link would be too short?

If its this one there are 2 thickness's Ford used in that era this is the one you want (thicker more capacity) both still available from the dealers inc that bolt but I dont have the pt no's here its probably at work ....
Hi SimonI just checked the patr number on my Sandwich Plate and its 84TM6B856AA so looks to be the same as yours
If you could identify the part number for the bolt that would be great and i'll order one
I'm assuming the bolts female thread will fit onto my existing Pre Serp oil pump thread?

Hi Simon
Any joy in finding that part number for the oil cooler extension?
This is about the closest I can find on line but the diameter and length are not quite right
https://www.merlinmotorsport.co.uk/p/mocal-long-ex...
Spoke with Nick at Think Automotive, but no joy there either (thanks for the pointing me in this direction Steve).

Have you thought about using a remote filter mounting, as a bonus a full size filter can be used. Mocal do all the components via somewhere like 'Demon Tweaks' etc.
Hi MacThanks for your reply, I have thought about it and it may have to be the option if I can’t get hold of the correct extension… I just fancied a neat and discrete setup…
I’m also planning on repurposing my unused heater pipes as they will be close by.
If I get no joy with the correct part, I have been advised I may be able to get one machined.

No luck with that pt no I am afraid ( I did have it once) I can tell you its MK3/4 Escort XR3I these have the bigger capacity Modine cooler same as one of the MK1 & 2 Sierra Cosworths but not both, V6 cars i.e 2.8i Capri etc had the slimmer version we dont want that one as the centre bolt is shorter for that unit Any joy in finding that part number for the oil cooler extension?

I may well be missing the point here - I usually am - but turbo installer of repute Eann Whalley (info@torqueV8.com) recently supplied and fitted an oil cooler with sandwich plate to my car. He is a friendly guy and may well be able to give you part numbers and suppliers for the bits.

Your not missing the point QBee its just MPO is referring to a Modine style cooler where the unit is a self contained water to oil heat exchanger the barbs/stubs in the picture above are for water/coolant not oil transfer so no not a sandwich Sardonicus said:

Hi SimonThanks for your response, no worries, I'll keep my eyes open and get one machined if necessary.
