We currently use Bosch EV6 injectors for most RV8 TVR applications up to about 330bhp, these are usually about 250cc/min.
I'd be looking to follow the Lloyd boys lead here given their knowledge & expertise in all things injection.I had a quick look on EBay and it seems you can get a set of 8 reconditioned Bosch EV6 injectors for £114 all in.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/131473505675?_trksid=p20...
EV6 is just a body style I believe so people need to make sure they're buying the right injectors, encouragingly the listing refers directly to the Range Rover Classic and confirms they have the right slots for our rail clips.
The spec is...
Bosch EV6
15 Ohm HIGH IMPEDANCE type
215cc @ 3 bar (so not has much the 250cc as with the Vectra ones)
Bosch Part Number 0 280 155 746
While they do come all the way from Portuagal, they are also very good value.
In fact they look ideal for those that don't need 250cc.
What I think I'm going to *TRY* to do is get together all the bits that I need to be able to build up an entire inlet side sub assembly with injectors and everything (so I will need a fuel rail from somewhere) and probably throw on a 3bar regulator to swap over and bolt on quickly once it's run in before it gets rolling road'ed - otherwise I'll end up having to wait while I buy a few bits at a time and I'll end up delaying getting her back on the road even longer.

I had found those on eBay previously but as the spec was 215cc/min and my current injectors are running at 86% on a 4.0 already then I skipped them ...

OK - so not *SUCH* a silly plan then?Seen any spare fuel rails anywhere recently?
(Are they a TVR part or are they Rangie?)
So, what's needed for this? Anything more than:
45mm manifold,
45mm base and trumpets / blended base,
72mm plenum,
fuel rail,
fuel pressure regulator,
throttle position sensor (might as well change it I guess - it's 21 years old)

ChimpOnGas can you clarify....In your opinion for 14CUX users are the Vauxhall injectors the best plug and play replacement and for other aftermarket ECUs the Bosch EV6 are best? Or are the EV6 injectors best for any ECUs. I had a quick look on EBay and it seems you can get a set of 8 reconditioned Bosch EV6 injectors for £114 all in.

I fitted Vectra injectors back in 2010 while still on the 14CUX and they worked really well, in fact they are still working well on the Canems so I've proved they work perfectly on both systems.
I believe EV6 is just the code Bosch use for a certain injector body style, within their EV6 range of injectors you'll probably find they offer a wide range of flow rates.
One thing you need to make sure of is that the injectors you buy have the correct slots in them for the clips used on the Chimaera, obviously these are the same clips as the Range Rover Classic that also ran the same 14CUX system & fuel rail. Some EV6 injectors may not have these clip slots so you wouldn't be able to fit them to our type of fuel rail, the Vectra injectors definitely have them so no problem there whatsoever.
Once you've established the injectors you're looking at have the correct slots for the clips all you need to make sure is the other specifications fall into line with the old Lucas disc type, IE an impedance of 15 Ohms.
After that you can choose the best flow to suit your application, 250cc should be good for 330hp and 220cc should safely cope with 300hp. However, I'm running the 250cc Vectra injectors in an engine that only makes 250hp so there is some flexibility around these figures, I just liked the better spray pattern and felt adding in some additional duty cycle head space was a good thing.
Actually the truth is I was running the Vectra injectors when I only had 220hp on the 14CUX, and TBH the car ran sweet as a nut.
Keep in mind the old Lucas disc type are 200cc (good to 285hp at 80% duty cycle) and you can see why it's one of the first things you need to change when increasing the power output of your TVR. I know there are some running 300hp on the original 200cc Lucas injectors but they need to know they are running them very close to their limit, to my mind you are far better off going a bit bigger than you need to give you that buffer zone of headroom.
All the alternative injectors we're discussing here (EV6 & Vectra) are the more modern pintel type while the original Lucas injectors are the old disc type that were only ever fitted to some Jap cars in the 90's and the Range Rover Classic (read TVR Griff & Chimaera). Disc type injectors are quiet and very robust but they can be forced shut by excessive fuel pressure and are hardly the last word in spray pattern efficiency.
Modern pintel injectors offer a far better spray pattern than the old disc type and so improve fuel atomisation, this is why they are more or less universal on all modern port injection engines. There are definitely benefits in switching to these superior pintel injectors even if you don't need a higher flow rate, for example a set of 200cc pintel injectors would be a good choice for any RV8 TVR running up to 285hp.
Just make sure you buy injectors with the right clip cutouts, make sure they operate at the 15 Ohm figure and that the body style, size and electrical connectors are the same as the old Lucas ones.
After that it's just a case of choosing the correct flow for your application making sure you respect the 80% duty cycle rule.
TBH if I was still on the the Lucas 14CUX making anything from 220hp - 300hp I'd probably go for the Bosch EV6 in the EBay listing here...

They look properly reconditioned, seem to offer a good spray pattern, are the correct 15 Ohm rating, and have the correct cutouts for our rail clips.
Add to this the 215cc flow rate and it's only the guys with over 300hp who'll need injectors with a greater flow rate, and best of all they are cheap for a set of 8 flow matched and reconditioned injectors you know will fit.
Try them, then share how how they perform on here

What about if you have the original ECU and have exactly 300 hp already ( and looking for a bit more)?Edited by WokingWedger on Friday 17th July 10:44

I was kind of looking for a suggestion as to what injectors (pt. no. maybe) would be suitable to provide the greater flow. (sort of 250 cc ish I guess)
Is the pt. no. 90501588 mentioned by FFG the same as Bosch EV6 mentioned elsewhere.

Well the Vectra Injectors (as per this thread) flow about 20% more fuel than the standard injectors do @3bar so if you're looking for something cheap that flows about 20% more fuel then they are (supposedly - haven't actually tried for myself) a straight swap both physically and electrically...
