I have to hand a rack full of the required steel sizes, metal chop saw, plasma cutter etc. But on outriggers with as much rust as I'm seeing here it is more cost effective to buy in the rigger kit.

Flying along. Mark every bag of bolts up. It’s much easier and requires less of your memory banks weeks or months down the line.
Is that Dif new or did you paint it in the past?
I can’t seem to get paint to stick without rust showing through in no time.
What paint did you use?

All bagged
Diff was rebuilt by Brian Horsefeild 3 years ago so it’s what he put on its getting some more paint before it goes back in

I remember smiling to myself and thinking it looked like an Airfix kit all lined up on the floor. Thankfully because I was good at Airfix kits I was not phazed by it at all.
You must have been top notch as this is flying along like the pro’s.
How long are you thinking,,, This bits fast but you know it takes a bit of time getting it all organised and together. A few months surely?
Are your boys helping or are they like mine, totally uninterested in mechanic things frown
But then I never really encouraged them.
Your to busy to answer this st now I know lol
Enjoy it Pete I tend to think it’s a one off event.

Seized release bearing or because you went to Shakey and overheated bearing lol.
That looks a bit like my old one except I managed to drive it 125 miles to Peters so he could replace clutch for me, where those wear marks are had been ground down until only about 4 fingers existed at all. Clutch still sort of worked which is probably more surprising. I think I had about 5 mins left as the last bits just snapped off with finger pressure!
If it wasn’t for Anthony the hero that he clearly is I’d have been in trouble.
It was making a slight grinding noise everytime I pressed clutch. ( info for others )
st happens
You need to stop driving with your foot perched on top the pedal biggrin
It’s going well though Pete.. what was that,, 2 days to in total to strip chassis down. Top grafting with no electric ramp that is. thumbup
I can’t find your details and lost passwords so no access to my old account for messenger. I’ll try contacting you on my new account.

Good work.

When I bought mine I made sure the chassis had already been done because like you I don't have a lift and I suspect you've made that look easy.

It doesn't go out in the rain now.

You’ll do anything to cheat me out of my place on the leaderboard biggrin jeez I’ve only got a standard 450 as it is hehe
Lovely colour on that there big plenum! Have you filed it to within a mm of its life yet. Haha

Have you checked shells?
Easy enough to take caps off one at a time now and check. How many miles is on your bottom end? Am I right in thinking it’s been rebuilt at some time.

Looks sound considering how hard you thrashed it keeping up with me biglaugh

Agreed. He definitely has made it look easy but then he’s a no messing Yorkshireman.
If you remember to markup and photograph everything as you go rebuilding it takes about the same time if a tad longer. It’s lovely when every bolt and fixing goes through with new copper slip or similar and its all sliding in and out like new.
Some feeling.
Each corner took me an afternoon to re build but I faffed about a lot.
It’s not about rushing when putting it together and I think this competitive beast of a bloke is going to built a great car. I’ve raced him for fun at a drag strip and he don’t mess about,,, he aims to win. We had a great craic that day. It was some weekend. I never once got near his 5.0 in a race but then beat his time by about a 10th on the Sunday which means my cars faster than his which is a good job cos he butchered me on the track lol he could do a faster time than me in truth but hasn’t yet so we are even in my book. thumbup
I’m higher on the Tvr fastest timed car leaderboard which is priceless and all that matters.. rofl
