Is that a single or double layer one? I was looking at Carcoon's outdoor ones:

I used to secure my cheap half cover by closing the bonnet on the front and feeding the back inside the boot, don't use any of those elastic string things to tie them down as they'll eventually scratch the paint.
I think that the only leak outside of the roof area is the brake reservoir and the bonnet release cable, as long as those are watertight you should be good with a roof cover.

My car has been fairly leaky in the past, but a Level half cover simply dealt with that and has caused no paint problems.
As said above, it's the one to go for, so keep an eye on Ebay and anywhere else someone might post an ad.
People do sell them from time to time, when they sell their cars.
You can get new ones - I think Amore made a batch and may have some available - their website says £355.
Honestly, they are worth that. I researched having a batch made a few years ago and was quoted almost £500 per unit.
If yolu do buy one, you will be glad you did.

carcoon outdoor cover is very good - i got mine from Demon Tweeks, better service than from carcoon.
be careful with a very wide car in a carcoon mine is 2m wide and on windy days there was very slight abrasion on the paint where the cover touched when pushed by the wind, a narrower car would be fine

My Griff has been outside since i bought it 19 years ago. I have tried expensive covers and cheap ones but for the last 10 years I have used the Halfords Breathable cover in the small size. it only costs about £49 with club discount, and it lasts about 3 yrs before it starts to deteriorate. it has a soft inner lining so doesn't scratch the bodywork.
Always use a breathable cover otherwise the car will go green with mildew because of condensation.
All the breathable covers deteriorate after 3 yrs due to sunlight breaking down the material. My first cover was a Stormforce and cost over £200 and only lasted two and a half yrs, they only give a 2 yr warranty as they know they last just past this,
Also I found the fitted covers stick to the bodywork but ordinary covers without mirror pockets and loose fitting are better as they do not cling to the body,
My bodywork is fine after 19 yrs in all weathers. Also I use those large 1kg silica gel packs to keep the interior dry, only cost £10 a pair on ebay and can be put in microwave to dry out.
good luck

Would it be this one - https://www.halfords.com/motoring/car-accessories/... ?
I am looking for a replacement to my Stormforce. Although it has lasted for 3.5 years, it is breaking down now and has ripped. Definitely interested in a cheaper alternative.
Does the Halfords one hold well in strong winds? I've been quite impressed with the Stormforce holding in bad weather.

I'm using a 5 layer Moltex cover until my garage is built. Does it fit as well as my genuine Porsche cover? Well no it doesn't (as that even has "ears" for the wind mirrors and fits like a swimsuit on a Sports Illustrated "Angel"); but the Moltex really seems to work, keeping out the vast majority of the moisture and quickly evaporating what does get through. I've checked it a couple of times after storms only hours before and the roof and bodywork are bone dry. Anyway - I'm betting a full respray that it works and the naysayers are wrong!
