You're welcome to share my Jotamastic 90 Aluminium epoxy mastic as I have double what I need, but it is either its natural silver/grey colour or tinted to red oxide and I suspect you're going with white?

You're also way ahead of me, but if you want it its yours, no charge mate thumbup
I’m happy enough with the Rustbusters stuff but appreciate the kind offer. I’m using a pro painter to apply it so should look good hopefully. I’m more bothered about a good protective layer than specifically the finish but using proper painting equipment should help.
My way of thinking is I can’t paint it other than by brush which would take considerable time so as it also requires mixing properly I’d rather a pro do it.
With my project I have decided using the right people on the right job saves me a large learning curve and no less time. The cost of me keeping the car on a ramp while I do all this learning suggests it makes good sense to save a lot of time ( mostly ) by getting some things done by others who are good at their job and have the correct equipment.
Paint should arrive Monday so I have a busy weekend ahead thumbup

Cool, I'm pretty certain the Rustbuster stuff is just Jotun's 'Smart Pack' so it's going to be bullet proof, applied by a proffesional painter using his skills and kit is going to give you a supurb finish too.

I think your approach is just about as perfect as it gets, DIY where you can and proffesional support where required.

Keep up the good work, look after that back of yours and keep posting the updates thumbup

So that’s it then, chassis stripped.
Removed Dif, gear linkage , engine and box as one.
Removed handbrake switch off chassis and rear exhaust hanger bracket.

All brackets etc are now free to be blasted and re painted.
Forgot pictures,,, I’ll take a few tomorrow as I now have a tonne of work to do cleaning everything up.

Latest developments,,,, my mates building a paint booth for a chap who works out of a st tip yet is a really talented painter,,,, It might be done by next weekend. I knew he was going to do this but didn’t think it would be ready in time for me but it’s nearly finished.
As I have a lot of work to do this ties in nicely.
The plan is to blast everything clean, check for any corrosion, if it’s good to go take chassis direct to paint booth and paint that and all bits directly after the blasting so within hours of eachother.

The paint booth is next door to where the Tvr sits so this is all coming together nicely,,,
My mates just full filling his dream of being able to do complete resto’s at home including paint so for me the timing couldn’t be better.

As usual it’s the little things,
Steve mentioned the small plastic bushes that go between the gear linkage bolts, i’d remembered this today, I’d have simply pulled the bolts out and lost them otherwise. thumbup

I’ll put some pictures up tomorrow, a big pile.
I’ve already had wishbones done last week but I’ll do them again when chassis gets done as they’ve been rusting for a week already.
Basically anything that’s white so all brackets and chassis.

Yesterday’s tomorrow is usually known as today, 24 hours on.
Any photos for us to enjoy, Alun?

Mmm paint!

Good face mask required! Never sprayed it but make sure they are wearing the mask and filter elements.

Good work.

Yes painter uses proper breathing equipment.

Sorry for no updates, I’ve been so busy this week, which is rather annoying but someone’s got to pay for all this regeneration smile

Monday I start again. Should have a few days spare so looking to get chassis sanded down in a few important areas and rear plates welded for seat belt anchors, as we are checking body still fits these will be fairly easy to tack in place.

Remove body, take chassis and bits for blasting then directly to painting.
I mentioned a paint booth being built, it won’t be ready so I'm going back to original plan using another pro painter which I’m more than happy with.

I’m slowly accumulating new parts like fuel and brake lines including a new slave line, thanks to Powers Performance for making them up smile

Onwards and upwards from now. Feels like it won’t take long,,,,,,, rofl
