What did you do in the garage yesterday?
Discussion
Had a daft moment especially as currently up for sale on PH but had the parts in the garage since Mar 2013.
Chimaera 4.0 HC fitted SC Power plenum spacer on a cold drive outside house, note to self read up on topic on PH before starting lol.
Drive to work was awesome, unbelievable mid range pull was scary enough before, now it drives so different
Next on the list fit SC Power castor spacers as non power steering car.

Today - nothing in the garage just a nice 200 mile round trip in my Chim for a site inspection and managed to include a visit to Racetech Direct for a couple of bits & pieces. Trouble free journey, left an enthusiastic Audi S5 for dust on the M40

Whats the standard TVR flywheel weight and how much does your lightened one weigh?
Cheers, Steve
Stock TVR/SDI 28lbs IIRC (the black one in shot is 19 however) and the shiny one 14.5 Cheers, Steve
Also: put up my new 2 post lift, lifter the chim, took off exhaust of course getting ready for engine out and suspension refurb. My AST dampers are squeaking!

What's wrong with your 46mm shocks ?
Appalling ride quality, crashy, rock hard on soft, etc, etc.Standard was very bad, they revalved them and they are better but still poor.
They went back yesterday to have revised pistons fitted.
Joolz who has fitted countless sets of dampers and sets cars up drove my chim last week. He slated the ride within 10 seconds of driving!

Anyhow, fingers crossed!
Just weighed up both by old flywheels.
The standard one off Neal's old motor is 28 pounds. The one off my old 5.0 motor is 19.4 pounds. I took an average from 3 readings on my not too consistent bathroom scales so prob correct to within a pound.
The 5.0 one will be on Ebay this eve if anyone is interested.

Hi Mac,
I got the old T5 rebuilt by John Reid with modifications to make it stronger. According to John it is worse than marginal with the power that Neal's motor is capable of (I have to admit at not getting on a RR yet...). Every time I am about to go for it I think 'Don't really want to break the box...' Then there is the old GKN diff....
I am 'between jobs' at the mo so money rather tight and therefore have the turbos wound right down
I was looking on with interest at your investigations on a replacement gearbox for the RV8
