I thought that the air entered via the mushroom filter, to the crank and then out of the flame trap into the throttle. With your arrangement how does any air move into and out of the rocker covers ? Why not just put the catch tank between the Flame trap and the throttle ?
That's far too easy.I have another breather that fits in the dizzy hole and will use that as a breather.
Nothing too interesting happening.
I spoke to GAZ regarding minor rattles that I can hear and they are machining up some tighter spec ally spacers for the mounting bolts for my Monos, good guys!
New garage well on its way, base in, reinforced piers built and topped off by a reinforced concrete ring beam.
Walls will be concrete block infill.
Size of garage is deceptive, 6.5x6.10m.
Roof will be pitched to match other garage on Jan 06.
I bought a 3.5 tonne 2 post lift that is residing behind the faithful Landy and will be installed as soon as the roof is on.
Lucky my neighbour is a sparks!
I'll be open for a chim get together again and anyone who wants a tinker on their car using the lift is welcome.

Sometimes you must think, 'where did it all go wrong'.
Quite the opposite Mac, mostly it's gone right and the wrong things I quickly forget about, that's man thinking for you.No 3 son is a qualified mechanic so it'll get used, in fact I'll probably have to arm wrestle him for "ramp" time

Just had a measure up I can get the bottom of the car 7ft high before it hits the boot and bonnet ,the roof is pitched so higher in the middle .
Where do I get a lift and what type ,can you get them single phase ? Does the floor need anything done to it ?

A bit of work over the last couple of days.
I have often said how rubbish the standard seats are and a recent spirited drive down Surrey lanes had me sliding around but more importantly, bouncing around like Dazs "nodding dog" syndrome!
Soooo, the recently purchased Elise MK2 or some such seats had to go in.
It wasn't easy as the roll bar obstructs the outer edges of the seats, (these seats are wider as well as more comfy then the MK1 seats).
I adapted the lower home made seat frames, bolted them to the seats and with a lot of jiggery pokery mounted them in the TVR time honoured fashion of bolting them to the thin fibreglass floor with penny washers, I'll definitely sort out some floor reinforcement, (something else added to the never ending list).
Anyhow, a test drive reinforced my memory of the other car, driving is now a pleasure, what a difference!

They look good Peter. Got a set of these seats in the garage from the VX220. How is the position? Height and backrest angle in the TVR?
About 2" additional headroom with these seats, a bit more with the MK1.Backrest angle is perfect.
I didn't fit the runners as they won't fit in width!
Well since December the weather has generally been rubbish!
A few things have been done since then, new diff polybushes, new drop links and most importantly the fitting of lovely new Nitron Pro 46mms!
I made the journey down to Mat Smith Sports Cars where Mat carried out a full geo, set all relatively at standard + a bit more camber front and rear
I recently fitted a SPA digital oil pressure/oil temp gauge which is superb, I can't stop looking at it!
Yesterdays antics involved the replacement of my ally radiator for a nice new Aarron rad, a lovely bit of kit for about £280 + VAT.
While I was down there I made some mods regarding the oil cooler that wasn't cooling much.
There is a big fibreglass lip at the bottom of the rad so I trimmed this away for better air flow in the position I wanted the oil cooler and moved the cooler directly in front of the rad.
I then cut out the silly little slots that are under the front valance and enlarged the aperture. I had some ally mesh in stock so this was used as a stone guard. I will spray this to match the body at some time.
I remounted the horns out of the airflow and repositioned the air filter at the bottom of the nose.
All this is to improve airflow to the rad and oil cooler.
Next on the list is a bespoke cowl from the new aperture to the oil cooler to ensure it gets the full ram effect of air to aid cooling.

Peter my oil temp gauge and sender as arrived , I can remove the oil pressure sender and fit it in that position but still struggling what goes where .
I`m a aware a tee can be purchased or made so the oil pressure sender and warning switch can be fitted at the side but not found anything to date . Do you have any pictures thanks
Daz. I'll jack it up and take a piccy tomorrow.I`m a aware a tee can be purchased or made so the oil pressure sender and warning switch can be fitted at the side but not found anything to date . Do you have any pictures thanks
It may seem that way but your shot of the vents is taken at an angle.
If you look at the vents straight on there is hardly any aperture.
Where the oil cooler was originally placed, adjacent to the vents, what air enters can flow around the cooler.
The new position allows better cooling and the enlarged aperture is in line with the cooler.
As stated previously, this will be ducted in.

Before the increased vent and moving the oil cooler position oil temp at a constant 90mph was 91-93 degrees. With the mods at the same speed yesterday early morning at a similar outside temp and same speed the oil temperature was 10 degrees lower!
Hopefully on track this will be to an advantage in keeping the oil temperature in a good place rather then 115 degrees!

Monos went back for them to investigate the constant rattle, (Nitrons are silent apart for the new clonking).
Actually I must chase them up as they've had them for over a fortnight and gone quiet.
