All the above problems can occur on any Chimaera even if its up for sale at 20k
True but a good inspection will show whether it's a good one or not.If you are unsure, take a competent owner with you who knows the ins and outs.
These are after all, simple cars under the skin!

Good cars are out there, I got lucky six months ago, £8000, got me a chim 400. It had a full body off chassis restoration, new brakes, new suspension, new carbon fibre roof, new rear screen and a full engine , gearbox and diff service. 70,000 on the clock and Fenhurst were itching to get there hands on it, the car came with a DVD and photos of the work carried out, I went to view it in Lymington and didn`t need much convincing that this was the car to sit next to my S2. All I`ve had to do to it is clean the stepper motor and fit my brother in laws decat Y piece. OK, it`s not as quick as a 500, but bang for bucks, it is hard to beat. The interior is very good indeed, the boot has a small blemish on it which can be sorted, but I`m to busy driving it . The true value doesn`t really bother me as I`m still smiling, so keep looking, these cars are great, also a fantastic drive and still turn heads. Oh, forgot the noise .

that's the bargain of the year. l would like to see your carbon fibre targa roof panel. As it would be so much weight saving from the standard fibre glass one. mark

Eh? I thought they were C-F anyway, I was impressed with that feature. Does a standard roof look like C-F on the underside?mark

Thanks ive got the orignal wheels too, first 4 days and 400 miles have been great! Back in the company car today!
Looks very nice Keith. Is it Portland grey interior?
I hope also that 400 miles has been with the roof off don't want you to become cannon fodder to the Griff,Wedge and S folk.
Not sure how much homework you have done but.... When the roof is being folded down many of us stick a rolled up towel in place as to protect the screen, and undo the valcro strips on the inside has this lets the roof drop slightly.

Yes grey interior
Mostly with the targa top off
Few little niggles but great fun
Pretty sure if buying any 17 year old car it has a chance of some niggles, many brand new cars come with niggles. Niggles can be worked through slowly and inexpensively most of the time or just get to live with them Mostly with the targa top off
Few little niggles but great fun
