Impreza steering rack mod

That one is sold ..Does the part number have to be exactly the same ?

The number I have is 34110 FE060

Getting a bit annoyed, want to get everything together to get it started.

No Daz it doesnt have to be the same part number. It does however need to have the pinion shaft that is bolted onto the rack. You can see one of the bolts in this photo. if you find one post it up and I can check.

Why do you need it refurbished Daz? just stick a pair of gaiters on it check the tie rod ball joints for play if OK your good to go please do not compare a jap quality rack to the Chimaera's rack quality

Nothing worse tha n putting that lot together to find the rack need of a make over .

It’s a very good thing for us but what I can’t understand is how come there's so many of these second hand Suburu racks knocking about. There usually a decent selection on flee bay.
Are these Suburu being scrapped!
Anyway it’s good to see you getting near to doing this mod. Be like a Beemer or even a Suburu

Do both these parts ware out ?

New rod ends defo just so it’s all new like

I transferred mine over from my original power steering rack. They fitted perfectly.

Where do I get good quality track for ends without paying TV R tax ?

Daz if you read back through the pages i posted somewhere which ones will fit. They are Ford items.

Just go to your local motor factors they should stock them. Or go to a Ford garage if you want originals.

Found it. Inner steering arms are mk5 Escort with trw power steering. Track rod ends again are just Escort items. Here are some part no's from the Griffith alternative parts list for rod ends.

Where can I get eather a new or used bracket and the bush ?

Because I have had so much help who ever wants my old rack can have it for free ..
