My Pros have 400/325 and the Nitrons 500/400 FYI.
Did you have them valved for those spring rates or just 'creep up' on them? The 'whoosh' the valves see due to the force of recoil on strong springs is much greater, but less on compression which can really mess up the valving when drastically out of spec.

There's not much material left on those is there. How wide is the metal between each chamber? Do you have to grind back your gasket to fit?
No,1.6mm,
Hope not, will check over the weekend when I get to that stage.
I have lots of work to do first.
Strip rockers, adjust JE supporting posts, shim and fit Yellas, (sounds easier then it is), fit heads, exhausts and a plethora of stuff!
Hopefully not!
Today's efforts, heads and exhausts on, JE pillars worked on to fit properly, (thanks for the tips Simon, that's what PH is all about) rockers and solid spacers fitted .
Mostly spaced rockers correctly with shims although a tad more to do, (lucky I'm patient as the rockers have taken over half a day).
I've been in the garage since 7am so a shower, Gin & Tonic and a chilli calling, maybe a little more later

Hmm, using spacers made to fit bigger shafts & different rocker arms.....
Wouldn't it have just been easier to have some made the right size for the YT's and standard shafts they use?
The Yellas are an afterthought of last week!Wouldn't it have just been easier to have some made the right size for the YT's and standard shafts they use?
The shafts are standard as are the pillars, just the JE supports added.

Yes but I spent ages boring them out for your oversize group1/volvo rocker shafts and trimmed to suitable lengths for those! so I know damn well they are different to what you need for standard shafts diameters + the YT spacing on the shaft...
Looks immediately wrong when I even went to the extra effort of cutting index marks to easily identify the middle spacers & each end one! (which shows straight away you have the 2 central ones fitted on the outsides of one bank...)
Change of plans Dave. As said, I need to space them correctly.Looks immediately wrong when I even went to the extra effort of cutting index marks to easily identify the middle spacers & each end one! (which shows straight away you have the 2 central ones fitted on the outsides of one bank...)
I know the Volvo shafts are a little larger diameter. Is there any reason why I can't use the spacers with appropriate shims given the change of direction?
If not, I'll use the springs.
Always happy to take advice.
