A couple quick questions for you Derek, if that's okay? Done a few track days and been to a few hill climbs & sprints but never been drag racing so please excuse the basic questions!
Roughly how many runs do you typically get in one day, assuming the car is all ok?
Is it okay to take passengers (although I know that it won't give me the best time)?
Looking forward to it! :-)
The key is to get there early, sign on and get in the queue ready for the track opening. On a Saturday it usually starts fairly quiet so you could get half a dozen runs in before lunch if it stays dry and there are no oil downs.Roughly how many runs do you typically get in one day, assuming the car is all ok?

You can take passengers, they need to sign a form and pay a fee, I think its only a tenner. The only rule is you cant exceed 130mph terminal. Looking at you Barrie Piper!. I calculated that having a passenger only cost me 1 tenth of a second!
I'm going to sign 2 drivers up for the one car. If one of those drivers wants to be a passenger do I still need to sign him up as a passenger too?
Currently in the process of putting a new camshaft in to improve driveability below 2000rpm, did suffer from a bit of shunting at part throttle below 2000rpm. Ran lovely under all other conditions though, really pleased with it so far and looking forward to testing it on the drag strip - the road is not really the place to stretch it's legs when third gear exceeds 120mph!

What are peoples plans/itineraries.
Arriving friday or saturday
Staying over friday night and/or saturday night
My plans
Arrive friday evening with volvo n caravan.
Son Chris bringing Chim over.
Check in early saturday
Runs.....
Stay over till Sunday morning.
I had a similar plan involving the TVR on the trailer behind my Tranny but that semi seized its engine on the M6 last weekend! So I am either looking to borrowing/begging/stealing another tow vehicle otherwise I will just drive the TVR down with as much camping kit tools and tyres I can carry.Arriving friday or saturday

They do allow you in on Friday night. Plenty people arrive not knowing. Worst thing that will happen is you sleep in your caravan at the entrance area.Just spoke to Santa Pod

The MITP tickets are £18 and camping a further £7. But... just pay entry for Saturday RWYB and camp over anyway. Pay on the night if asked.

Hi guys Its been a while,
as I only live down the road and its my 10th year of ownership I think its time to do a few runs.
I managed to just get into the 12`s a few years ago a 12.998.
would be nice to see if the new concrete track is any quicker
Should be there in the Morning and will bring an air compressor and my timing light, easier to do this at the pod as you can make as much noise as you like
