Bit bored tonight so thought I'd put these up to revert to the thread title. All figures are at the wheels.

Initial run

De-tuned slightly

No parading of the penis, it's just the way it is smile

This FI thing,,, it's all opinions but I'm thinking 350bhp,,380-400 torques is enough to be as quick as most,, keeps you n/a which for me is vital,,, the rest of the drive train can cope, it just seems like a figure I and the car could live with,,
You can't be that far away Anthony,,
I think the numbers mean st,,,,
We need a Top Gear straight line shootout,,
15 of the best Chimears with varying specs 4.0 to 5.5 cough wink
Best of three runs,,, just see what the times say ?
Oh yeah, I think it's called the drag strip,, hehe.

That' makes sense,,
Has your inlet tract been worked too Anthony, manifold to heads, trumpets etc ?
I'm thinking if I go with 72mm plenum and the best inlet manifold then the heads,, all gas flowed and matched,,
35 hp ,,, de cat + 10-15 hp maybe,,, 350 has to be the goal n/a,, triple plenum maybe,, oh it's all adding up !
Hi Alun, You have to match everything; heads/inlet manifold/trumpet base and don't forget exhaust manifold/heads too for a proper job. Can be time consuming [took me an age] but that's the price of a good build over a not so good. As I understand it Daz has quite a special build on his 5.0 to get his figures. The above also helps with FI too. Heads and exhaust are my limiting factors now, but I'm happy at the moment.

Have you all seen this NA 5L Rover MG with TA heads: https://youtu.be/W341hsWs__Y

I hope he gets it sorted but the numbers are nice even it's a track car.

It won't load up Peter,,,
Mac,,,so have you ported your inlet manifold yourself,,,
Daz engine a bit special,,,,so I'm asking too much from the 4.6 as it has standardish internals,,
Oh fk it, what's the cost of a turbo again,,, wink
This is like going round in circles,,,
Ban Toyo's, bring back hard tyres and you'll be fighting 300hp no bother,,,
Oh and Richard your so not funny,,, hehe

Completely standard intake other than the removal of AFM as part of an Mbe Ecu install,, incl CATTED Y smile

That is very very interesting stuff Peter,,
Getting below the 13's is a tall order,,,
Your way out in front on the N/a side Peter, go on boy,,,
Alex old engine was way fast by the looks of it too 😉
I have to have a run,, get my benchmark !
It's good to see all the big names up there, sort of makes us all famous,,
It's also some serious competition to behold,, I'm liking the battle down the lower order,, 12.5-14 second barrier,, my area!
Some big guns down there too,,,, hehe

Yes Gacksen it's very nice indeed,,, fuel figures confirm its running almost optimum. I' have the tiniest shunting at 1100-1400 revs so I'm having the map tweaked again this very week and then I'll consider it fuelling and running as smoothly as any modern engine, Mbe as with any good after market Ecu set up is a game changer,,, the car drives like a Roller,, but goes like a Ferrari,, hehe

I thought you might find that interesting.

It shows a brief account of the modifications to various cars and therefore the performance reflected on the strip.

Once you achieve your personal best, it is very hard to move forwards.

For me getting into the 11s is next years goal.

I haven't done any modifications since but may try a different make of tyre.

At the fly I'd guess.

I don think Alun is running a 22mm plenum.

22mm plenum? I know his equipment is on the small size........but?

If it's at the fly, then that's low for a 4.6 IMHO.
If it's at the wheels, then his BHP and torque is the same as mine with a 5 litre engine.
Here's mine AT THE WHEELS

This produced the graph showing 316 bhp at my flies

Both graphs were produced by the same power run

So 316 - 252 = 54 bhp drivetrain loss? Seems very high to me.

I remember having 275 @ wheels at Dales and after coast down it only came to 312 at the fly which is only 37 bhp.

Very strange.

A standard 4.6 is around 215-220 at the wheels.
