Yes it has a timing chain - mine has a duplex chain but I don't think they have this as standard. You shouldn't need to ask the mileage to replace it, it is specified in the service schedule. The person who is servicing it for you will have a copy of the schedule. (Anybody servicing it without the schedule is really asking for trouble.) Cheers, Peter Humphries (and a green V8S)
