First of all it looks as though a previous owner has made a run to the speakers themselves, bypassing the standard wiring. However, from the first picture, it looks like they hooked their wiring upto the wiring harness, when in fact it should connect to the ISO block on the back of the HU.


Personally, id run my own wiring to the speakers, rather than try to sort someone elses mess. Its easy to do, find the correct colour wiring off the back of the HU, the colours will tell you which speaker its meant to go to, and + or -. Run a + and - to each speaker, job done.

I Found 3 different aerials when I replaced the dash, I ripped all of them out as I don't ever listen to the radio.
Looking at yours I'd either rip out and start again or trace the non standard wiring and see what kind of job was done and go from there.
It's a relatively easy job to do and a non crucial one so relax and get it right.

Those dashboard pictures make no sense, it may be because the bottom left corner is cut off of the photo. The black plug is power, the brown one is speakers. From the look of that photo someone has connect the front speakers with bullet connections to new wire that run back in the hole and go nowhere near any source

How many speakers are actually fitted in your car? The wires in that black taped up loom should run to the door speakers, get a 9v battery and touch a couple of them to the terminals and see if some of the speakers pop.

If it was me I would take out one of the front speakers to check that they have the original loom running to them and then join the wires back up to how they should be on the iso connector as there are enough there to run 4 speakers. Where does the new wiring go?

Telescopic aerial hidden in the passenger A pillar @ build time if you were lucky, or sometimes in the boot behind the cover on top of the tank, also depending on the amount of bodging by previous owners you may have something completely different!

Those clear and red wires, do they go into that white block connector and then the wires continue back into the dashboard? That's the bit that's not making any sense, they're connected to the middle 4 wires on the original iso block which iirc is the front speakers. I'm wondering whether the previous owner had an amp under the dashboard too, so those new clear and red speaker wires are going to where the amp would have been and he had an RCA lead from the radio to the amp.

Can you see what is at the end of those new clear and red speaker wires? Are the wires that go to your front speakers green and grey?

What you need to do is pull those bullet connectors off and put the wires back to how they originally were to the brown plug. At the moment your radio (I'm assuming the black iso plug you've plugged into the brown one is connected to your radio) is only connected to wires for the rear speakers that you don't have (They're the outside 2 pairs on the brown iso plug)

This was the mess of wires and junction boxes I pulled out from my dash when I replaced it. I recon on atleast 3 stereo installs, 2 alarms and a strange wireless cd changer controller!

Stopped a lot of the rattles I must say!

You ever had the dash top off? Those wires must go to something, if you can't see the end of them there they can only either go onto the top part of the dashboard or behind that drop down pouch where the fuel cut off thingy is. Judging by the other bodges shown, if your dash has ever been taken off it'll only be held on with one bolt on the passenger side anyway

As far as I know a lot of people find that not all 3 of the bolts are there, some of them have been replaced with velcro to make it easier to take off. Mine is only held on by the two passenger side ones and velcro on the drivers side.

N/s behind seat... Speaker multi-plug or not.... Yes it is. I put rear speakers in and hooked up to these wires. Very easy to access.
