Time to join up? .... clicky
Whilst a good fight may be put up I fear the eventual outcome is inevitable, "we" need more houses and they've got to go somewhere?
(oh yes, and a few people stand to make huge amounts of money which will possible sway the argument)
Happier days, my old Chimaera..........

Same issue down here guys. The ruling class seem to wan to turn the uk into a residential concrete block. Old vickers airfield on A3has been at threat to 5000 homes as has the redhill aerodrome. The buzz phrase to try and make an objectionable idea more palatable is to call it a "garden village"!!!! Oh forgot to mention Dunsfold - thats another at risk of being a "garden village"!Aka urban sprawl
Richard, I thought it was more to do with the failings inherent in the National Lottery Scheme withholding the funding of your fast heavy jet pilot's licence course?
In my view, this was the only weakness in your plan.
ETA: It's still not too late, I remain on standby with the flask and sandwiches available at a moment's notice. Just say the word!

Should any of you feel strongly enough about this to follow Glen's lead and write to the local MP, this is the chap...jeremy@jeremywright.org.uk
Subject: FW: The future of Wellesbourne Airfield (Case Ref: ZA19164)
Dear Jeremy,
Please read this email I originally sent to your collegue Mr. Zahawi, MP for Statford, referring to this matter.
I understand that neither of you can make representations on my behalf because I am not a constituent, but I would ask you to consider the local people currently employed at the airfield, the thriving businesses on the site, and the implications that the loss of this green space would cause harm to the area for generations to come.
It is reported that the landowners plan to demolish buildings on the airfield in the very near future with the prospect of building a housing estate on the site.
This would be a detrimental and irrevocable step. I trust you will fight these plans, or at least press for a stay of execution until the case can be properly debated.
Thanks for your time,
Yours sincerely,
Glen Robinson
