Sort of - the main differences are cosmetic, but they have also made some mods to the suspension and brakes (I think), so nothing too drastic, but different none the less. But when you think about it, TVR are always updating things (or sometimes downgrading them) as they try out new ideas or change suppliers etc so does it really matter?? ================ Graham and Rosie

Weren't the Griffith and Chimaera chassis developed from that of the racing tuscan anyway? I think that they were originally supposed to house the AJP8 too but that the engine took longer to develop than anticipated. Shame that never happened! Russell

yes the 92 Griff chassis was developed from the Tuscan race car (and the Chimaera from the Griff). At the 94 or 95 motorshow TVR showed a Griff with the AJP8 in it - I believe the idea was that they would sell Griffs with this engine, however I think they decided (after testing it?) the AJP8 was too powerful for the chassis and particularly the shorter wheelbase (compared to a Cerbera). i think the griff/chim chasis is 'de specced' from the racecar, i.e. less triangulation, and no roll cage. AJP + no top = very very scary indeed... the 4.2 would do nicely. ross (4.5 cerbie)
