Hot air all the time from the vents

I find the interior is always venting hot air. Do I just need to replace the heater valve?
Has anyone done a bypass of the heater in warmer climates or does that risk engine cooling issues like air locks?
The heater valve gets worn and let's hot water into the heater matrix, replacing the valve should cure it.Has anyone done a bypass of the heater in warmer climates or does that risk engine cooling issues like air locks?
It's a Volkswagen part that should cost no more than £10, though it's an awkward job because of where it is sited
It worked when I changed mine around 4 years ago.
You can get the golf heater valve on EBay for about a fiver.
Just keep the spring clip that holds the cable onto the valve when removing the old one.
It's and easy job especially if you are a bit bendy.
You don't need to drain the system as little coolant comes out.
Just put an old towel in the floor to mop up any drips.
Transformed my car as I can get cold air blasting inside
It is a golf spare part MK 1 or 2
