Big power clutch - What are you guys using?
Discussion
I have just spoken to John Eales who can no longer get hold of the uprated AP clutch and it might be a few months until he can. I have also spoken to V8D who say they can supply a paddle clutch but recommend a twin plate as a fit and forget option but at almost £800 seems crazy!
What are you guys using for 350bhp plus?
Is a Mcleod single plate man enough?

My +400hp RV8 engine use Sasch SRE -765 clutch. It will hold at least 600Nm with organic plate. Tested over 700Nm without slipping. With paddle clutch it will hold near 1000Nm.
It will cost approx 330€. it is Bmw M5 clutch cover. Flywheel dowels need re drilling and you can use std bolt pattern if you make those cover´s bolt holes approx 1.5mm oval. Also pivot pin may need adjusting.

Yes i have got Tremec T5Z for Ford racing. It has got 10 spline input shaft and i´m using Ford V6 9½" clutch plate. I think it is from Ford mercury or Mustang plate. Year model 60-70?? I might have part number somewhere if needed..
It will handle my 556Nm torque without problem..
If you are running TVR T5 like Sierra cosworth, you can use STD SD1 9½" plate. They are cheap form Rimmer Bros..

Exactly this. Get a chevy based item and you'll never overload it. Also the twin plates double the friction area, allowing a nice light user friendly pedal pressure.
I beg to differ are, my new twin plate McLeod clutch is as heavy as my very heavy McLeod single plate clutch !Very, very disappointing.

Surprised to hear that Peter. Do you have the same master and slave as Mac I wonder?Very, very disappointing.
Mines very heavy too but has handled a lot of power and torque and a lot of heavy abuse at the drag strip.
AP racing pressure plate with a JE ceremetallic plate.
