Wiper Problems...
Discussion
I wonder if anyone has experienced anything similar and could advise....?
My wipers have a mind of their own. They come on and off when they feel like it and today simply stayed on whatever I tried. I am wondering if maybe its something I could do at home without the bother of taking it in....A relay or something?
Thanks a lot.

You can try:
Is the relay dry, is it seated well? I had waterlogged relay once - before I sealed bulkhead grommets.
Is the connector to the motor good? - clean contacts (spade terms can come out of body of switch also...) Is there a short at the back of the plug - just give it all a bit of TLC.
***Replace parking switch under motor (most likely problem if its a well looked after example).
When its all ok wd 40 contacts then silicon seal all the switch bits to prevent water ingress.
It is possible that you have a bad relay / motor / column switch / wiring - but unlikely. I have spare switch & relay so would quickly swap out to check (relay any way).

Look in the Bible 2 in the section on Earths. It is possible that you have a bad earth under the rad as this will cause the random problems you are talking about.
