Black Headlight Sealant

Can anyone advise what black sealant we use to stick the plastic headlight surround to the body work please? Can you just use any black silicone sealant from B&Q?
I had an incident with a pigeon on the M3. Although there was an almighty thump there appears to be no damage apart from the headlight surround becoming loose. There's also a large amount of pigeon debris all over the bonnet, radiator & windscreen, and a strange smell of Pigeon Pie when I get the car up to temperature
. At least there's now one less flying rat in the world.
