I’ve had my Griff 2 weeks, the first week it spent at peninsula getting serviced, I then brought it home, I was playing with the heater valve in the foot well whilst it was parked in our car park at home, I left the door open and walked round the other side when my neighbour reversed round the corner straight into the open door, the door was ripped off completely!

To make matters worse the neighbour is uninsured, so know if he is deemed unable to pay I’ll lose all my NCD.

The car is now with Webb’s, but they said they wouldn’t have a door for 4-6 weeks, so I’ll be without my new car for about 2 months!!!

Tried the police, they weren’t interested, they said if he’s given his address let the insurance deal with it, I can see I’ll be having fun trying to get the money and keep my NCD!

Can’t believe they wouldn’t do anything, he’s still driving the car and I presume he’s still uninsured!

Fortunately I still have the S as we were off to France at the weekend with the mid Kent group, so didn’t miss my trip, was so looking forward to doing it in the Griff though!

I’ve actually just spoken to the neighbour and they are looking at getting a loan to pay for the damage to the car, that means if they pay I might get to keep my NCD. The car has a recent tax disc etc so it must have been insured recently.

I have been told by the uninsured loss recovery people that the MIB only cover the uninsured bit, i.e. my excess, because I’m fully comp they will only claim back my excess then my insurance will pay the rest.

Well I’ll try out sort this out ASAP but its still going to be 2 months till I get the car back as they have to get the door from TVR, at least I still have the S!

Looks like I’ll be paying the extra while it’s in and get the rest of the body work sorted out, twin headlights conversion is tempting too!

Afraid I can’t see them being much quicker as it looks like a 4-6 week wait to get the door from TVR, must admit I’m feeling a little down about the car, even considered selling it when it comes back but I know that when I see it I won’t want to.

Been offered that for free but it won't save my no claims discount, hopefully he's going to pay up without to much fuss!

Must be some solid buns round your way

Problem is it’s in Webb’s Auto Specialist (TVRBODYSHOP.CO.UK) so I presume they will only use their supplier, who I believe is the factory!

I’ll bet you £4000 I can guess what johno's car is, should just about take care of the damage on mine!

And no protection on my NCD, they wouldn’t do it till I was 25, still if they get all there loses paid for by the neighbour then surely my bonus should be reinstated?

Some good news, the insurance company has said if he pays up even after I’ve made the claim they will reinstate my no claims, also Webb’s have said they should have a door a little quicker than first expected 3 weeks, fingers crossed could have my car back soon than first expected!

No, they won’t protect my NCD until I am 25.
