A a nutter in a 16valve calibra who thought he'd have a go up in Northumberland near Bedlington (he felt the need to come past me at 120 on a B road to make some kind of point) then pulled into a bus stop to wait but I didn't lower myself...

B an eejit in a 3 series on the A1 who really didn't quite know what he was dealing with.

C an audi RS4 which really was a rev-limiter business (esp in slightly iffy conditions) & entirely another matter in 2nd gear - those things are KWIK...

Anybody else had a good week?

Sorry to revive this, folks, but it was a brilliant sunny dry day up North today (track temp ~ 6 degrees)and I pull up behind a Civic Type R at the roadworks and something tells me he's looked in his mirror and the roadworks are ending and it's the last cone, and fizz he's off, and boom I'm off (O/T yes I fixed the cooling fan fuse ) so I hit the rev limiter in third (after hitting it in second) yes I know it's no way to drive and he pulls into the layby with smoke issuing from sidepods . Honda - the stuff of dreams.....NOT. FWIW he was with me (ish) up to 70 improbable tho it sounds.

He blew his engine? I thought they were supposed to be unburstable.

Me too. Maybe he got it up to 9000 revs instead of 8000!! Fizz Fizz... suspect it was his rad hoses or something in fact - but was receeding too fast in my mirrors to make a detailed diagnosis . My limiter arrives at 6200 - good job, too. I really must calm down a bit. How's tricks in EEdenberg? Any more potholes the size of Wales??
