The saga of getting my 4.5 repaired after a twerp creased it in a car park is still going. The insurance recommended repairer - a well known Subaru dealer near Reading had the car for 3 weeks. They have done a pretty good job of the repair to the rear quarter. Their customer service is c**p though, I would not recommend them for that alone.

When I collected it the rear window stitching had come apart for a length of about 14 inches just behing the drivers seat. There are 2 rows of stitching and they both appear to have broken at exactly the same points on each row. I was told by the repairer that this was normal on TVRs - it happens every time the rear hood is removed especially when a repair is being done. Funny that!

The problem I have with this is that the broken stitching is on the opposite side to the repair, which was the nearside rear. I can understand that they needed to release the hood on the nearside to carrying out the spraying on the repair etc. So why would the stitching on the rear window go on both rows of stitches at exactly the same points behind the driver?

Anyone else ever had this problem?

Thanks

Paul

The repair to the rear window stitching was done this week. All A OK and no probs. Done by Trimmania in Reading - seem a good outfit. Good bit is that I am not paying for it. The garage who repaired the wing are!!

Now got to sort out this issue of 15 unaccounted miles on the clock whilst it was having the wing repaired!
