Hi all..

so since the electrical fun of the last week, now the rev counter is only reading at half speed ie 2000rpm showing on the dial is 4000rpm from the engine. Studog suggested to me that the Rev Counter might be "coded" somehow for the 8 cylinder engine and that the 4 days or so with absolutely no voltage has made it "forget" the coding and drop back to a more standard 4 cylinder default operating pattern.

As some of you may have noticed, if you buy an aftermarket rev counter, there is a switch on the back to set the engine cylinder number, is there a similar thing going on with mine albeit of an electronic nature ??

Cheers,
Matt

And here was me hoping for a nice easy fix..

I am guessing that either the coil/ignition module/distributor is screwed and not generating the correct input waveform or there is a fault in the rev counter..

the real pisser is I've got a spare speedo, but not a rev counter.. D'oh.
