Have been losing small amounts of coolant for some time and I now think perhaps it is evaporating from the expansion tank as occassionaly I can hear the hissing coming from the blue cap area. Have replaced the cap recently - anyone else's hiss?!?

Pretty sure it's not the pipe. The only other thing it could be is at the join between the neck of the expansion tank and the screw thread...although I have sealed this with liquid metal. Maybe a new expansion tank......

The expansion tank is about 1/3rd full when cold, but due to the "evaporation" gradually gets lower and lower.

I got the blue cap from a TVR dealer and have checked the washers - as per the last one....unless both are faulty!

The noise is definitely not coming from a split hose, but the top of the expansion tank.

No problems like overheating, head gasket, etc....

If I don't keep a close eye on it, the expansion tank does run dry. Originally there were no air locks, but when the expansion tank does get empty, I suspect air is then drawn into the swirl tank. Vicious circle really....

Have had several pressure tests done by dealer and a hydrocarbon as well - all OK apparently. Due for a service in a few weeks...maybe same tests AGAIN! If all is still OK maybe I'll put it down to just one of those TVR things!
