Help! Can't find the reversing light switch

Can't seem to work out where the reversing light switch is on the side of the gearbox. I have taken the exhaust off for its mods so I can see up their properly. I can see the handbreak wires and have looked up the side of the gearbox and bellhousing casting but cant make it out. Is the switch mounted at the top of the gearbox or on the side? Anybody know please! How can I test it on the car when I do find it? Its a 94 Chimaera so its got the rover box.

Is it a better bet to attck it from the top then?
How do I get the centre console off in that case and are their inspection hatches so that I can get at it?
