Hi,

I have just bought a 95 Chimaera and it has a problem with the indicators, they dont work! I knew it when I bought it but I presume that it must be an easy thing to resolve.

I checked most of the fuses, until I noticed that the hazard lights are functioning correctly so assumed that the problem cannot relate to the fuse box.....Whether this was a correct assumption I don't know.

Are there any known issues with the Chimaera indicators that might help me figure out what is wrong?

Thanks in advance for any information

Cheers

Thanks for the help guys. Unfortunately I dont have a diagram of the fuse box so I am not sure which one could potentially be at fault. Does anyone know which one should be the indicators (if that is my problem)?

I noticed that the 20 amp fuse, 2 to the right of the hazzard lights (2x15 in a row just after the middle of the fuse box) looks a bit 'tired'. The fuse is a little worn, flexed as though it has taken a little heat. The contact is in place complete though.

I have a feeling I will need to invest in a book for my new toy......Any suggestions?

Cheers

I have ordered the 'Bible' from amazon this morning so hopefully that will answer some questions.

Dave, I checked out your web page and saw your fuse box. Mine looks to be the same.

I checked the remainer of the fuses and even switched a few around (of the same type) but no joy.

I took a picture of a questionable loose wire which has a blue connector (clip) about 4 inches from the end which contains a resistor.....Cant work out how to post it.

I managed to resolve the issue I was having with my indicators with the kind help of Spend (aka Dave). Many thanks again Dave.

I thought I would leave the solution for anyone else who may have the same issue in the future

Symptoms:
Indicators do not work at all
Hazzards work correctly
Indicator lights also flash with alarm

Resolve:
Removed dashboard using www.chimaerapages.com/resources_dash.php
and www.tvrcc-south-wales.co.uk/tech%20info.asp

Removed relay box under dash to reveal diode which in my case the solder had cracked leading to a break in the circuit. I removed the diode from the spade connectors and re-soldered the joint (paying attention to the direction that the diode was in). I believe that sometimes the diode may need replaced.

Dave advised that I could have 'shorted' this connection to prove this was the problem. It would have worked as a temporary solution however the hazzard switch would also have acted as an ignition switch.

Once re-soldered, the indicators burst into life.

Many thanks again must go to Dave.

Cheers
