I have just had a £800 bill to rebuild a the diff for my 94 chim. It was bought with only 29k (6k miles ago) on the clock. I have also has to replace both rear wheel bearings. Is this normal or have i been sold a car with an potencially incorreect mileage?

Does the droning noise start from very low speeds? I had mine done in Aberdeen which is probably of very little use to you. However, one owrd of advice is to fine a garage with low labour rates, as it is extremely labour intensive. The usual TVR engineering problrms where you need 4 arms to lift the diff out and everything had to be removed from the gearbox back.

the job itself is relatively easy just time consuming so a TVR dealer is probably not necessary. I would even have trid to do it myself if I had all the kit.

The parts alone are £325 plus vat.
