I want to replace my gear stick gaiter on my chim, any offers on how to remove the knob? Does the knob come off or does the stick come out? i've tried rubber gloves, leather strap etc but it just wont budge! Does anyone know which way it turns??

Sorted!! you were right, anticlockwise, just very tight, used a strap wrench. Asked around for a new gaitor, quoted anything from £56 to £65, in the end Martrim have sold me a hide offcut for £12, I've taken the old one off and the wife has used it as a template to knock up a new one. Looks the bis!! My chim is half leather and the ambla in magnolia, the gaitor was cracked and split and looked quite scruffy, so i've gone for blue leather as a contrast that matches the carpet and paint, enough leather left to cover the pouch at the back and the door opener. Figured that new ambla would have stood out too much.

PS, how do you insert the smilies and where do you get them from? (That enough?)
