Squeaky steering rack
Discussion
I'm 3 weeks into owing my first TVR (A chimaera 450, 97). Am I just about to experience the lesser delights of a hand built car, I ask myself?
When the engine has warmed up after a mile or so, I get a rubbery squeaking noise from the power steering , it sounds very close to the cabin.
Has anyone had the same problem? Simple solution or time to get the wallet out?
Thanks for any comments/pointers in advance.
I only have to turn the steering wheel a very small amount - 1/16 of lock back and forth. The sound is like two pieces of rubber being twisted against each other. Imagine there was a bit of water between the rubber and that would sum up the sound perfectly.
Thanks for your comments Dr C
