Discussion
getting a bit off track chaps ,
is there a register of how many Lynx eventer's actually still exist ? , thinking about the barn find that Lowdrag friend has in his barn .....edit to add i'm not thinking of buying it , just wondering how many are just languishing with owners knowing that they are still sitting on a pot of gold

Like I said above, there is another one fully restored for sale via friends at the moment, but the one languishing in a lean-to isn't and I doubt never will be for sale. to know more about them there is this site but it is in french:-

If anyone is interested, I've just had news of a V12 auto Eventer coming on the market. Green metallic, completely bare metalled and repainted, engine stripped and rebuilt. Owner died suddenly before using car. Believed two owners from new. One of the earlier ones with outside hatch hinges it seems.

Compared to all of the above it stands out as the most sympathetic customizing.Edited by lowdrag on Thursday 8th September 15:43

I have been on the grail of one of these for over 10 years and have just sold my Range Rover classic so have a slot in the garage that needs filling
Seems we have a lot of people on this thread who say they are interested and then don't reply to PMs. so, let me make it clear that I am not involved in this sale, just passing on information for all to see. The car is at a garage in the south of England and an advert is going into Jaguar world next month, but I thought I'd give you a heads up since people seemed interested in Eventers - and why not, I think they are more classy than a normal XJS and if I wasn't reducing my collection I'd probably have bought it myself.
This car has apparently had two owners, the last being ex-Lynx himself. He commissioned a rebuild but found he had a wildfire cancer that took him away in no time. The widow now wants to sell the car. If you want more info then reply by PM. They are asking £25,000 and for me this is a lot of car for your money. I wonder what one would cost to build today?

Fo those who are interested and arte serious about this car, here are some photos I took Friday when at the workshop.
Some of you have seen the car advertised in Jaguar World at £19,000. I telephoned the director today and he confirmed it was a mistake. The price is £25,000. This car has had over £35,000 of restoration, and frankly I cannot for the life of me understand why so many people are balking at the price, given the cars that Mike Abbas sold in worse condition (IMO) and at a much higher price. If you want an Eventer much cheaper than this, I suggest you search the Dinky Toy section of Ebay.
