Just a quick update:

I had a call on Friday to inform me the outstanding finance has now been cleared and have arranged to call in and pay for the car on Monday morning. So by tomorrow once the funds have been exchanged I should definately be able to say I own the car outright. It has dragged on a bit over the last couple of weeks but well worth the wait.

And just as importantly, how much of a bargain did you get ?

My guess.... 20K

Well done whatever you've paid, sounds like a good 'un !

Well here goes .......

2003 "03" XKR 4.2 Convertible.
Black with ivory leather,
58k miles

As well as the usual goodies It has:

20" Detroits,tyres between 6 and 7mm tread left.
Dynamic Stability control,
HID Xenon lighting,
Trip computer
Automatic wipers with heated front screen,
Jaguar built in phone,
Heated seats,
Alpine stereo with 6 disc changer,
Dimming and folding mirrors with compass,

Have located the full dealer service history with all receipts showing the 60k service carried out a couple of months ago and all Brembo discs and pads changed earlier this year.

It is even taxed till next October!!

Finally had confirmation of payment so I can now safely say it is mine.

Can anyone tell me how to upload pictures, I am pretty clueless.

So any more guesses on price?

Peter, sounds great. I am intrigued however about the source of this car. I assume a repo at some point and that it has sat in a car pound for some time, hence it dirty etc???

I would also hazzard a guess on price between £12-15k.

Happy motoring.

No not a repo, but something along those lines, the car was being used daily right up until I collected it.

You are a little optimistic on price, if I could get them that cheaply I would have bought two!!! biggrinbiggrinbiggrin

Me too!

Thought you may have pulled a blinder, although very happy to hear gorgeous XKR's, like the one you have bought are still commanding good money.

Enjoy, she looks fab.

Incidently if you put after, your pics will be displayed rather than the short cut.

Puurrrfect.

Straight away, go get the 'chrome pack' for the gear lever surround, dials, pedals etc. Makes the interior look fab. And change the wood for the 'elm'/ Looks way better. But you maybe happy how it is.

Thanks for that Triple7, I have already ordered a black and chrome gear knob as I think the original brown looks a bit naff, probably just the first of many improvements!!!yesyes

Nice car on your profile, 20 odd years ago when I was still an apprentice I owned a couple of Series 2 Daimler Sovereigns one a 1971 J Reg and a 1975 N reg, both beautiful cars. They didnt cost me much to buy at the time but I remember spending most of my wages each week filling up both tanks to go to work and back and a little evening cruising.yikes
