Doesn't look too bad to me Alex. Student finance in the US of A can't be too bad then. I used to think the Norwegians had it good! They used to buy some fantastic stuff with their grants.

Incidentally I forgot to mention, PM sold me a lambswool mitt to use instead of a sponge, though prior to that I was using a natural sponge with plenty of holes in it as opposed to the synthetic type.

John, what do you see being involved in a maintenance programme? Do you really think that chamois are no good?

Oh dear! And here am I upset that my car has lost its cracked paintwork, its dings and dents, its patina all due to an accident and repaint! No. I am not p**s taking, just pointing out that some of us with the older Jags prefer them to look old. So for the repaint we added 20% matt to the paint and used a Scotchbrite afterwards to put IN a few scratches! Aaahhh - much better! Just shows that for every opinion there is a diverse one!

Looks great Alex. Need to invest in a set of big wheels and some mesh grilles. I know moddding is a popular past time out there. wink

The maintenance isn't too bad, it's just a case of being careful when washing, use a schmitt or lambswool wash mitt that you have, use the two bucket method(one bucket has plain water used to rinse your wash mitt after each panel), dry with soft towels and keep a good layer of wax or sealant on it and that should be it really. The key is just being carefull and using the right products.

I used to use a chamois all the time but the microfibre towels are so much softer, like I said in my previous post I use 2 towels, one that I lie on each panel to remove most of the water then I go over it gently with the other to dry it completely. I'll never use a chamois again after using these biggrin

John.

Yeah it does look a little plain with out the 20's. The reason I did not just go all out and get the XKR with the works is when I traded in my DB9 I got this XK and a V8 Vantage (sorry Triple 7 & John), it made little sense to get the XKR. I am still waiting to see if the N400 is coming to the US or not.
