Thanks for that,
I forgot I've had one of them too, recently got a Manual one for my dad, sadly got no pics of that, great car the 2.7, but you can beat the V8.
I Bought this 2.7D to fix up and sell, made a little money.
I didnt like the body kit much, but once on, you cant take them off.
Also it didnt have any wood. If its not wood it has to be carbon, silver stickers are no good, what were Jaguar thinking.

Like a train. Only A 400bhp sideways one.
I retro fitted full factory spec premium alpine sound this week, its soooooooo ,much better. I love the car, might keep it for ever until its a classic.
But if it makes you feel better like any 10 year £55k car there are issues:-
The coolant radiator ir starting to bow out at the bottom (12 months max maybe before a new one due £300 ish)
The suspention bushes are all factory (fitted in 2005) so have done 106k miles and the car wanders / follows the road camber a bit as a result, I have the replacement parts but no time to fit them for months.
It needs new rear tyres (this will be the case almost all the time, new ones dont last)
One if the wheels is no longer that round thanks to a pot hole, gonna get it straightened and all refurbished soon £400ish
Still havent done the cats £1000ish
Still havent done the ignition switch £80
Diff pinion seal is leaking slighty, and it can do, so much work when cleaning up and checking the level every 6 months works for me.
Its averaging 19mpg, but i get 24 ish on a run.

You're not doing another one are you P?
I appear to have lots of bits so rather than do a full blown restoration on a very tired S1 2+2 LHD I thought a LWE was the way to go.Plans at present are 4.2, injection, peg drives and a 5 speed box. The middle will be steel and both ends and doors aluminium.
Looking for a cage and hardtop

might make something interesting, giving me something to do when I retire.
Would be great a specific thread on this maybe also with approximate costs and were to find things and were to have things done......

Would love to do something like that for an E-Type or an XK120
