Lynx Eventer XJS . Where are they all ?
Discussion
There is no Lister-Eventer, but...
In 1990 Paul Hands build a Hyper Eventer fully upgraded to Hyper specs (engine, gearbox, brakes, suspensions,...). It's Eventer N°58. Sadly it is now back to original specs.
Some Eventers were ordered with TWR upgrade, ie Eventer N°35 fitted with a 6.1 L V12. There are 5 factory XJR-S Eventers with 6.0L engines and there are 2 more Eventers (originaly V12 HE) that were upgraded to RS engine and manual gearbox.
Also 2 or 3 V12 HE Eventers are fitted with manual gearbox and standard engine.
And, as we all know, one Eventer was raced and won the race...

Hi Lowdrag
This seems to be the same message I am getting wherever I look. I foolishly thought that if I found one needing plenty of work I might be able to afford one. In my own head, I just could not justify the prices being asked for the really good cars.
Thanks for your info. best regards Phil

Here are some figures about Eventers:
First prototype is N°001 and last Eventer is N°67 but in the interval some were not built.
Only 63 were built including 3 driving prototypes, not 67 or 68 as one can read usually
1 is known as destroyed.
5 are projects needing a full restoration but they are not for sale at the time and most of them are currently in process of beeing restored.
7 are missing. Missing means I don't know where they are and who are their owners but it doesn't mean they are project or they were destroyed. Amongst the 7 "missing" Eventers 3 are supposed to be in US.
50 Eventers are in decent to very good condition, original or restored.
You have more chance finding a decent Eventer at reasonable price from a long time owner than finding a complete project, hence my question about the budget you could spent buying and restoring one.
