Fair enough that it was vwfs that made the mess but as said above if it wasn't for this thread I would be completely in the dark. An email from CVL to say your car is at the dealers and we are working to resolve the issue would have been appreciated rather than guys on here having to chase people for updates, which by the way is much appreciated. At least I know the car is in the country now

I contacted CVL last week & was told they were getting an update from the dealer still waiting for their reply!!
So I contacted Gary Parker and CVL on Friday to be told by Gary that they have the car at the dealership & will be sending paperwork to CVL on Monday. The delay was because of the change in excess mileage price, but now they had got it all agreed and it would be going back to 7.2 ppm..

Needless to say no paperwork today. I'm wondering if CVL are trying to spread the deals out from a cash flow perspective as they are part funding the initial payment (presumably from a commission payment). I worked in financial services for years and arranged finance for customers and occasionally things go wrong, but keeping customers informed is the most important thing, rather than ignoring it which is what CVL seem to be doing
It's not a CVL issue. I wrote a couple of posts up that vwfs couldn't get the paperwork to DM Keith due to an IT issue, therefore they were unable to send it to CVL. Gary said he had 12-15 of our CVL Cupra's at the dealership waiting to get pdi'd and sent out.
Thing is nobody has communicated anything to this effect, the only way I know about the excess mileage issue is reading this thread. A quick email from CVL would make the waiting a bit more tolerable.
Absolutely Nick, totally agree. That's why I'm not bothering to ask CVL anymore.
Yeah makes sense, I was avoiding speaking to DMK as I thought CVL may not be too happy but it seems it is the better way to go for getting accurate/any info.
After a fairly blunt conversation on Friday I had a very terse email from CVL last thing today saying that "the contract and excess cannot be changed therefore the dealership has offered a full tank of fuel on delivery" Essentially take it or stick it. The car is sat at the dealers ready to go.

This seems contradictory to what people are saying here based on conversations with DM Keith... I think i'm going to give this Gary a call first thing but I just want this sorted now. It's going to end up costing me an extra £100 or so.

Totally unimpressed by the whole thing but not quite enough to cut off my nose...

Completely agree Sam. If it hadn't been a fantastic deal and just an ordinary run of the mill offer I would've told them to stuff it by now.

Im not sure it is a VWFS issue - if it was, then the other dealers would have had the same issue with the mileage rates??

Hopefully my car is in the country now - if it speeds up the process Ill drive up to leeds later this week to sign the documents at the dealers!.. TBH id rather have the tank of fuel as its worth more to me than the mileage rate

I've waited a week for an update from Wessex, only to receive "We are still waiting for an update from SEAT". I'd almost rather put it off until next spring now, not much point having a shiny new car (especially a 300bhp FWD one!) in the crappy winter weather.

Don't know about anyone else, but next time I lease a car I'll be going though a dealership directly. It seems that 95% of people with a broker are struggling with updates and are having their orders slipped etc.

It's a lovely blue sky day here in dreary Scotland. Perfect for tanking the Cupra. OH THAT'S RIGHT, MINE HAS BEEN DELAYED...AGAIN!

Yeah but I think DM Keith we're fighting our corner so to speak. Maybe Wessex and Lookers were happy to send contracts out to customers at the higher rate? Don't know, just surmising.

I've been through this wait before. October 2014 to April 2015 waiting on a Golf R to show up. At that time loads of people on VWROC who were also enduring the wait had ordered via CVL while I had used a local company. The local company I used point blank refused to supply the order number which could track the car via VWs online build tracker while CVL provided all the numbers to their customers letting them track the car themselves as well as giving regular updates.

Either CVL have got a lot worse in the last 24 - 18 months or someone else is to blame.

I'm not sure dealers are much better. My current car is a Golf R on pcp and the VW dealer i went with gave no updates, then found out that salesman had left and when it came to asking about new deals in May if this year, knowing it would take 5/6 months to go through, all they were interested in was getting the money out of my pocket as soon as possible.

Just had a phone call from the dealers. We originally had to change from dynamic grey, so went for Alor Blue. Now we have been told can only have the car in white. Still no build week either.

Email received from Wessex indicating my Alor Blue isn't being built. Offered white, monsoon grey, or red as alternatives. Or the facelift model in April at the same rate.

Not sure I could wait until April to be honest - who knows, the April date may get delayed too!

Yeah, I agree. Tempted by the red, goes well with all the black.

If anyone wants to swap a monsoon grey which is at the dealer now for their option to take the facelift let me know!

(I have no idea if this actually do-able btw)

Monsoon looks great. The added refinements in the face lift is tempting, but the front looks god awful.

Not in any way trying to offend you but you might as well as them for an Audi R8. I'd be amazed if they give you DSG. If you don't ask you don't get I suppose

Isnt it just the normal models of the Leon that will be available early next year - defo wouldnt be holding breath for a new Cupra in the first half of the year.
