The Amazing PH Passat Alltrack Thread
Discussion
For anyone who has handed their Passat back or is in the process of doing so, how long did you leave it between inspection and collection?
I called VW today and they said they advise 3 weeks before the end of the agreement but BCA said the maximum is 1 week. I'm not sure that's correct as I'm sure I have read a larger gap before but the lady was adamant.
Edit: Non-issue now as my new car is coming next week.

It’s definitely 1 week max. I called VW today and they said they advise 3 weeks before the end of the agreement but BCA said the maximum is 1 week. I'm not sure that's correct as I'm sure I have read a larger gap before but the lady was adamant.

Had my inspection today by a very nice BCA man. Noted one solitary stone chip on the whole report - Zero charges, he said it was one of the cleanest cars he’d inspected. Happy days
I have a feeling VWFS were quoting how much you notice you give them before bookin the inspection / collection.
The time between inspection and collection is set at 1 week max to prevent extra damage being added to the car. I tried getting an extra couple of days between the 2 as it was a bank holiday, but VWFS refused the request.
It goes back on Wednesday, to make way for the Jaaaaaaagggggg!!!!

I have booked the inspection for Thursday and collection on Friday. I should pick up my Octavia 245 Friday or Saturday.
I'm expecting a charge for a curbed alloy (Mrs will pay for that one) but I'm not aware of any further damage.
What a great car, I've really enjoyed my Passat ownership.
Extended mine for 3 months at the same rate, cars just got back after some suspension, steering and wheel bearing repair, the bloke at the service centre goes I’m only smiling because it’s under warranty, guessing the bill must be huge considering they kept it in for 2 days.

My Alltrack has gone back but I have a full set of 4 genuine VW rubber mats and the moulded bootliner if anyone wants to make me an offer? Cost over £130 new. I'm in Somerset.
Can I see a picture of the bootliner please? I might be interested. Are they in good nick?

Help guys , my alltrack is now exactly 2 years with me, never serviced yet and no service lights, 13k on the clock and when I keep hold of the button to see when service is due, it says ‘oil service due in a few months and an inspection in another 9 months or so.
Car is going back in four weeks as another car sorted (1 month voluntary extension) . Vehicle is on their long life service plan.
Since I have had it 2 years, do I NEED to service it? irrelevant of mileage / the fact there are no service lights / car isn’t asking for one.
I’d rather not and save my money if it’s not due, but don’t want to be stung on collection.
Thanks

Long life servicing still has a max interval of 24 months between servicing intervals, regardless of what’s shown on the display.Car is going back in four weeks as another car sorted (1 month voluntary extension) . Vehicle is on their long life service plan.

Is the vehicle apparently still working normally?
Not sure what you could do about it now - I've seen reports of dealers quoting 4 weeks for appointments.
Yeh seems fine. Not sure what you could do about it now - I've seen reports of dealers quoting 4 weeks for appointments.
When you start it, it also shows an air bag fault but that goes but the gearbox fault remains.
Typical isn't it!!
