The Golf R lease thread
Discussion
Mine was supposed to be build week 35 - 29/08 via National Fleet Services.
I had heard the car (5 Door Golf R DSG) had been pushed back 2 weeks but just had an email saying that the supplying dealer has advised them the Factory is still closed so they are unable to provide a build week at present.
Previous car is gone so it's looks like I'd better get hunting for a shed!

I ordered through Vindis Cambridge, July 11th. Build week 33 (15th August) car is now in the UK so I guess a couple of weeks off being on my drive.
Shona at Vindis has been spot on and I have been kept up to date. Anyone would think I was actually paying £32k for the thing.
Do you have a timeline of events?Shona at Vindis has been spot on and I have been kept up to date. Anyone would think I was actually paying £32k for the thing.
I was BW 35 so I would be expecting to be a couple of weeks after you, but not sure if the car has even been built!!

Anyone else order off of vehicle savers and national a few months back?
On the 24th August I was told the car is due to be built week 41 with a view to delivery week 45.
So mid Novemeber delivery, which is a months delay. Anyone heard more who's been through them as well? I have a feeling based on other relplies here that this is looking to be subject to further delays.
Agree - feels like pulling teeth trying to get any info from National. Same boat. On the 24th August I was told the car is due to be built week 41 with a view to delivery week 45.

Looking to hand back my Golf in around 6 weeks time. Have a bit of kerbing on the diamond-cut Cadiz rims. Got my fair wear and tear document back and from what I understand it will set me back £30 per rim for each kerbed allow.
Is this still the for diamond cut wheels or do they charge more? Anybody have any experience if this charge is per kerb mark or per alloy? If it's £30 per rim I will just leave them - doesn't make sense to get them recut at an independent for ~£60 minimum each... any ideas?

Exactly the same situation as me, 5 door DSG due to be built wk36, now been told b/w 40 with delivery end October into November earliest; I think I'll be lucky to see it before Xmas.I had heard the car (5 Door Golf R DSG) had been pushed back 2 weeks but just had an email saying that the supplying dealer has advised them the Factory is still closed so they are unable to provide a build week at present.

23rd August - car is built and has been released ready for shipping.
5th Sept - car is now at UK port ready to be delivered to Vindis.

I have a 3 door manual on order via NFS. I ordered at the start of July and was told initially the build week was 36. A couple of weeks ago this then went up to week 40. Yesterday I was told this is now estimated to be week 43. So it's currently end of November before I see the car, and this is subject to change again. So much conflicting info etc., out there, sick of it all quite frankly.

Mine is through VW Bedford on a lease.
Ordered early July, build week confirmed as 29/8, changed to Build In Progress yesterday but VW live chat still saying it's delayed and no build week has been allocated.
So much conflicting information.
Has anyone had any updates from the dealer after going to Build In Progress?

Agreed with the confusion.
Ordered my Golf R estate on the 6 July and had my build week confirmed about 4 weeks ago for this week, which the tracker is still showing as confirmed.
However they're now telling me there might be delays on it, but they don't know how long for. I didn't think the estate was impacted by it?

I finalised my order on 22nd of Aug, just got this e-mail:
Your vehicle is due to be built week 42, which is the week commencing October 17th.
Expect the vehicle to be at the dealer and available for delivery around week 46, which is week commencing November 14th.
It's a lease. I assume they're just building all of these at once due to the delays ?

My estate landed at the dealer for me today in Preston, I'll be picking it up on Friday. It did however get stuck in Emden for over 10 days sat at the port waiting for a boat... Got mine delivered on Monday and its the only estate I've seen around Preston so far.. Quite a few hatchbacks buzzing around now.

My daily routine now consists of contacting VW Live Chat, and after being fed the same story about delays they finally confirmed that my car is in build so my tracker is correct.
My BW was meant to be 29/8, and tracker changed 5/9 to build in progress, so seems like a week delay was accurate.

Hopefully that means mine is too then, seeing as we both seem to be on the same timeline
Edit: Or maybe not.....
VW Said:
I have contacted our Sales team and they have informed me that your vehicle is currently showing as at the beginning of production. However, this may possibly be an error due to the Factory issues recently, so it may currently be on hold. The supply issues have now been resolved but it is a matter of getting through the backlog of orders as quickly as possible and updating the system, so the only thing that I can recommend is to perhaps contact us towards the end of next week as we should hopefully have a further update for you by then.
I suppose at least the supply issues appear to have been sorted so they should get back on to it at some point...
