So going by some of the previous comments in this thread, are we thinking this batch of 200 cars is just to clear up the production line before a facelift?

I'm still stuck on step one "processing your order"! Ordered last Friday.

I will definitely be collecting for the experience but then I'm only 15 mins from my VW dealer as they price matched.

Tried my luck with VW chat to get the build date after getting the stage 2 update this morning. Week 24 - June 13th. I can finally stop checking the build updates page like a demon now!

Triple Snap! Got my text this morning, confirmed BW commencing 09/05. I've already arranged a collection in person, only a half-hour tube ride for me to get there and a 20 minute drive home (which I hope to extend)....

I'm from Northern Ireland and I'll be catching a flight to Birmingham and then a taxi to the dealer's. Then it's a 5 hour drive to Cairnryan in Scotland to get the ferry home :-)

Had mine confirmed for 09/05 as well. Mine is from VW Halifax. I'm also unsure whether to collect from the dealer or have it delivered. I'm in Wolverhampton so it's a fair trek but I've not had a new car before so I'm still tempted to train up and drive back.

I've just checked the tracker and my interior has changed from something like Titan Gray to Black/Titanium Black/Black/Pearl Gray, anyone else had this? I assume just a glitch or some kind of new trim.

I can only see basic info under "my car" on the VW website.

It's only about 2.5hrs on a train. You could do a blinding route back through the peak district...

Vindis told me on order that there was only one interior trim option. Maybe they were wrong?

What extras have you all ordered (if any). I couldn't justify a metallic paint and Dynaudio so went with:

Lapis
Car net

Wondering now if maybe I should have gone for white and taken the audio upgrade.

Still not seen an R barge out on the road but passed by a hatchback last night and though, "me soon"

I went for tornado red with no options. I wanted car-net but my dealer told me I was too late to change as the deal had ended and amending the quote would double the price!!

All mine says is:

Golf Estate R 2.0 TSI 300 PS 6-speed DSG
Stage 3: Build week confirmed

edit: found it through another way, mine too states the black/titanium etc interior.

My car is from VW Halifax also and I live near Oxford - I'm definitely driving it back. One of my best drives ever was back through the Peak District when I had my TVR Chimaera with my brother chasing me in his Marcos 3 Litre V6 we just picked up from Oldham.

That's the colour of the carpet/dash/headlining/seats. Not sure if that's in the right order but it's as shown in the brochure afaik.

FWIW That refers to the headlining, not the seat colour.
