I have just under a year left on my Cupra lease and I'm going to be replacing the front tyres in a month or two. The rear tyres should be good for another year so if I stick PS4s on the front are they going to be bothered about the rears and fronts being different brands when the car goes back?
BVRLA guidelines have nothing about brands, only "Replacement tyres should be in the same class as those which are sold on the new vehicle"

i.e. equivalent categories in the EU Tyre Labelling Regulations (Fuel Efficiency, Wet Grip, External Rolling Noise)

https://www.michelin.co.uk/tyres/learn-share/buyin...

I assume PS4s will be the equal of whatever it came with, but double-check just in case. Linglong Ditchfinders definitely not an option.

Just wondering about extending our Yeti lease for another year.

Currently we can extend for 3 months at the current price or extend for 12 months for an extra £48/month.

Does anyone have any experience of how that quote might change as I get closer to the end of the initial 2 years (April)
I.e. is it worth hanging on until the last minute or the end of the 3 month extension to renew, or is it all much of a muchness?

Tyres again.

A few weeks from the car going back, almost 3 years & 22k.

Tyres are now marginal but above the wear bars, with two worn on the outside shoulder. Think it would be an advisory that tyres were due soon.

Advice and experiences please.

Handing our Golf back in March, does the car need to be insured when they come to inspect/pick it up. As i’ll be swapping my insurance over & Golf be insured until 23:59 that day. Any advise please?

I’ll be out of the country when they come unless they visit on a weekend, might have to drop it off at my local dealer for them to collect it from there.

You are responsible for the car until it's picked up, so it has to be insured. Even if you drop it off at dealer, they wouldn't want to take responsibility. I had to buy extra 3 days insurance for the car I was dropping off.

Hi there,
Could anyone tell me when they come to assess your car, do they give you any ideas of the charges before they return 2/3 weeks later?
My car is a year over lease(down to a less than helpful fleet manager and the whole Co2 debacle) and based on what I've read it seems a good idea to just take the hit from VWFS rather than do the repair yourself. Hoping they will take into account the extra year as well - as that doesn't appear to be covered on the guidelines.

Thanks in advance.

Definitely better to take the hit, but just make sure they asses tyres, wheels, and scratches correctly. Take plenty of pictures beforehand. Charges can often be disputed.

Hi all, car due back in a couple of weeks and I am at 1600 miles to next oil service. I have about 800 miles left to do in the car (if I choose to do them and not use the Mrs's car) so I am thinking that it will probably say "service in 800 miles" by the time I am done. It definitely won't need a service and definitely won't be so close to the service it won't get where it needs to go after collection. From what I can gather this is acceptable, does anyone have negative experience of this?

I aren't resetting the light as I can't see the point in that and it would probably cause more trouble than it would solve.

You'll be fine, as long as it's not saying 'Service Due' they'll take it back without penalty.

Thought that would be the case, and the BVRLA manual says similar just checking to see if anyone got pulled

My Golf R wagon went back of Thursday, a few marks on it but all waived through at no cost.

However there was a small chip in the front screen so Bill for £39.

Car went back three months early so had to pay 55% of outstanding rentals, the whole process has been very easy can’t fault VWFS or BCA on this one.

Where was the chip? In the mot failure area?

returned a stolen/crashed recovered Cupra with badly kerbed diamond cut alloys, but otherwise perfect(after repair)

despite it being noted by the inspector and the collector I heard nothing back from Seat finance they are monumentally rubbish but at least it worked in my favour this time.

Does anyone know if the £36 per wheel over 50mm of damage also apply to the diamond cut Black Edition alloys on my A4? Or will it be more?
