Deal has been done: Golf goes in next weekend (money in the bank) - use winter hack (just acquired 9 year old Grand Vitara) until - 1st March - take delivery of shiny new (well discounted) Polo GTi![woohoo](/inc/images/woohoo.gif)
Hope this winter goes quickly![biggrin](/inc/images/biggrin.gif)
You shouldn't regret it, my OH loves her's, the instant go from the charger is very addictive![whistle](/inc/images/whistle.gif)

It's funny how many people think a golf gti is the top of the very tree.
I think the polo gti is a better car in almost every way apart from the gearbox. It's a lot cheaper to run and buy and just as quick and only marginally smaller in the real world.
That said if I could afford one I'd take the golf gtd. it has everything.

It depends what Golf GTi. MK4, then yes. MK5/6, then no. Top of the tree is surely the R.I think the polo gti is a better car in almost every way apart from the gearbox. It's a lot cheaper to run and buy and just as quick and only marginally smaller in the real world.

As for the GTD, I personally wouldn't unless I was driving well in excess of 20K per annum or it's on a company car list with lower tax implications, otherwise it has to be the petrol.
