Why wait for a VRS when you can get a brand new A4 avant black edit (Bose, 20' wheels etc) for £26k

Because the VRS is quicker, more practical and doesn't suffer an image problem?

I am swapping from a BMW to something I actually think will be the best compromise on the market. The A4 is too small.

Also if I am not mistaken the AUDI is still VAG and therefore has exactly the same issues with company structure and under capacity.

Might not to you but I bet the residuals will be better on the Audi!!

We started off looking at a VRS,
but ended up with an A6 Avant black edition 177 ps, for a similar price to the VRS i'd spec'd. (Audi spec is better)

we could have had a stock car, but i wanted panoramic roof and tow bar (bikes), so had to order.
ordered 1st week December, build week 4, delivery first week march.

The VRS is a great car, what ever you end up with i'm sure you wont be disappointed

Th A6 is very nice but a little pricy for my budget. The Octavia with loads of extras came in cheaper about 5k under my budget! BIK for company car tax was better too.
Very happy with my choice I just can't believe how disorganised they are.

I have now been allocated week 19 but Skoda UK think this will improve as we get closer

have a look at "drive the deal" A4 Avant < special editions < 177 tdi Black edition

it may look like a dodgy site, but a bit of research shows that they are very well regarded and have been in business for years. You pay the Audi dealer direct.

However I took this 'quote' to my local dealer, and they matched it.

Ordered mine via Lex in early November. Originally quoted mid-Feb delivery, it's gone backwards twice now and is currently expected mid-March.
Gone back another 4 weeks this week, now scheduled for delivery mid-April frown

I ordered my VRS (fully loaded aside from the nav and full leather) on the 4th of September and picked it up last weekend, was originally quoted 8 to 10 weeks... Ended up being 20 or so.

Worth the wait tho smile

Anyone know the difference in lead times between RHD & LHD?

I've just ordered a LHD Petrol VRS with a fair few options, Columbus Nav, leather, Canton sound, 230v power socket etc etc and been quoted 10-12 weeks. Is this realistic or do you think it will it slip? Am planning on going on holiday in May in it hopefully, but don't want to start booking things for start of May if it is going to end up being June. 12 weeks should take us to end April.

The dealer here in Luxembourg did say that they are ordering RHD cars for people in UK to allow them to jump the queue (and get it a whisker cheaper because of lower VAT), so not sure if the European spec ones are built on a different line in the factory?

I ended up cancelling my order. Ordered end of Nov and best estimate of delivery July or August but nothing certain!

I have now manged to bag a Rallye Green cancelled order VRS not quite the spec I was looikng for but on the up side it exists! In theory it should be at the dealers in the next week!

Oh and the sun is shining so commuting in my Seven is not so bad for acouple of weeks until it arrives!

I ordered in November with DSG and Meteor grey. I was told it was on the ship on the 3rd of April. Any idea how long I will still have to wait?
