VW Golf 'Infotainment System' - HELP!
Discussion
The dealer I used just seems resigned to problems with the electronic systems in the car.
Mine still drops Bluetooth on a regular basis , and does the odd none specific weird things , but lately not lost sound .
Yesterday jumped in car and the display said the USB device was unreadable , no USB DEVICE plugged in not even phone lead .
Still getting rattles from somewhere around passenger door , ijust don't have time at the moment to keep going back .

I have 3 work colleagues all getting similar faults on the new Passat all 15 and 65 plate.
With latest software update were still getting the no sound on headunit.
Myself haven't had the no key found message for a while
Only experienced the handbrake coming off once (several times when parking)
Had the drivers side heated sunscreen not connected when first delivered, passengers ok.
Find that windscreen and front side windows mist up a bit
Car park sensors randomly beep when nothing there
Also the clock losses time when in an area of no GPS (basically stands still) I believe this fault is corrected if having a fresh software load installed which I've asked for many times but they instead fob you off and give you a update. From what I read into they put the previous Passat software on instead of the correct one at the factory.

Thread resurrection...
Passat had its first service yesterday. Apparently there was a software update flagged for the "infotainment" system to resolve the intermittent freezing issue. It hasn't happened to me for quite some time, but the update was loaded in. No further details available.

Yep, certain vehicles - quite a few, now have the 91O1 update. Worth asking your dealer if it's available. Passat had its first service yesterday. I've had continual problems with Auto Hold recently on mine. I'm finding in traffic when I try to pull away it initially releases the brakes for a second then applies again without me touching the brake pedal, so I end up sat there trying to accelerate whilst the car holds the brakes on. And then separately when coming up hills the auto hold fails to hold the car and allows it to roll back a bit before automatically applying the EPB.
Technology eh!
Technology eh!
Does anyone still have ongoing issues with this? I've just bought a 2014 GTI and have got freezing issues with the infotainment system - it also has an issue with driving mode selection.
Dealer will be updating the software - just haven't seen recent posts on this. Perhaps this is something that has been resolved?

I'm pretty sure the software update solved it permanently, did for me anyway. Dealer will be updating the software - just haven't seen recent posts on this. Perhaps this is something that has been resolved?
Folks,
2014 GTD nav pro system sound stopped working some time ago, display ok the unit works in the morning but once car is stopped that’s it for the day. Had the lastest update done by VW who are now saying the fault code is not recognised and need to replace the unit the cost £4895!! They also advised that each new unit is bespoke to each car and can only be installed by VW therefore secondhand is not an option.
Appreciate any advice on this one unfortunately don't have 5k to spare on a radio!!!
Thanks..

Try https://vw-retrofit.co.uk/ they’re quite a new company but seem very good with MQB cars. On the Facebook page the unit only is advertised at £650 or £920 if you want to replace the screen also.

Guys name is Alex. He’s ok but customer service isn’t his strong point. I was looking to have DynAudio retrofitted and coded and he wasn’t interested at all in fitting. Only coding. And even then it was one word answers. Pricing is about right tho and he does carry units to fit into cars.
If you get a copy of your scan with the codes sometimes googling the codes can lead to results. I managed to fix a multitude of issues in a mates Tiguan that a dealer couldn’t solve with just the help of Google and a VagCom cable and VCDS on a laptop. There’s a map of people willing to help online. Most just want some beer tokens and will usually be happy to help.

That sounds like top dollar piss take material! Even the greatest of shysters like PC World & Apple might blush. Go trade it in for one with media that works and see if that's the difference. Or, if keeping a long time, mobile or tablet. Aside from looks & a couple of bits and bobs, different planet. Car manufacturers are unreally behind on this kind of thing, like comparing a dumb phone to the latest & greatest of either persuasion.
