Mk4 Gti 1.8T buying advice
Discussion
Seems a bit expensive for a 2000 and be careful with climate cars - manual ac is better. No way of knowing until you look though - make sure you buy the cleanest possible as plenty of roigh ones around.
How about this one.

That one is a fair few miles away from me.
This one is very similar though, mileage is a bit higher than I want though really, seems well priced though:

Im beginning to think the car I want doesnt exist! I want something with below 80k, 3dr, in a decent colour, with the 16" wheels like the one above, black and grey Recaros (hate the blue and red ones) and looking to spend around £3.5k.

My wife has had one for 25k miles, its now on 80k, a V reg 99 model, and the only hassle has been the window dropping and its in for a new clucth tomorrow which is the first its had, so I guess 80k is reasonable.
The only other thing is that I broke the drinks holder and for the life of me I cannot seem to work out how to get it back in/fix it.
MPG seems to be around 30mpg on the commute and 38mpg on a run (but then she never really goes over 4k rpm)

Well I bought one over the weekend.
Its a 2001 Y, 3dr in Reflex Silver. It has 78k with FVW/ASH, cambelt done on the dot at 61k, but best of all it has black heated leather Recaros![cool](/inc/images/cool.gif)
My previous daily driver was a Bravo HGT (2l 5cyl 20v) and the Golf just feels so much better to drive, the interior quality is so much better, its quiet, comfy and drives like new, Im really happy with it.
Its got a scuff on the top of the rear bumper, which I think has been done by someone loading something into the car, but its only marked the paint, so it should be easily sorted.
The passenger door is a little low, but Ive been told its pretty easy to adjust the door hinges.
