I changed mine for Vredestein Ultrac Sessantas, never looked back. In the wet, you can drive like it's dry. they are freakishly good.
Hey, heard some good stuff about Vredesteins.
Can you give some idea of price and wear?

I've got F1 Asymmetrics on my R32 and they are pretty damn good and wear rate is better than the OEM Dunlop SportMAXXs that came with it.

OK, my experience (and this is just road use, not track).

Conti's: performed well in all conditions but life was limited, particularly at the front where I never did better than 12k on a pair. On the rear things were better (although a couple of punctures distort the picture) getting about 15k+.

Eagle F1's: changed the front to F1's. Tyre wear better than Conti's but very sensitive to tyre pressures. The straight line stability/steering sensitivity was affected if the pressures dropped below the recommended. Never noticed this so much with the Conti's. Never had an issue with roadholding performance in any conditions (as long as the tyre pressures were right)

Currently running F1's on all corners. BTW, didn't worry about having mixed pairs/tread depths (checked with Audi - was advised this was no longer an issue?!?)

Last pair of F1's cost me £110 each.

I got 4, fitted, balanced etc (235/40/18's) for £450 inc VAT from Jeff Fowkes wheels at Ibstock last June, just before our annual European trip. The S4 came with Pirelli P zero rosso's from new, and I replaced them with the same, the first time I changed them. But the second set were never the same.
When it came to changing them again, I'd heard a lot about the "EVO" tyre test from PH'r Balmoral Green. And how all of the road testers prefered the Vredesteins to the other tyres, even though they came 2nd to the Goodyears when all the numbers were crunched. I did some googleing and found lots of people with them, agreed. After fitting them, and the Europe trip I found them fantastic. In the wet, it's difficult to push them to the limit because you have to turn into a corner at a speed you don't think you'll make it. BG had to fit the Goodyears to his Bentley because they don't do the required size in the Vredesteins, and he's never stopped moaning about them. If you think your Audi understeers a lot, try some Vredestein Ultrac Sessantas, they have transformed my car.

I have the SUV version of the Sessenta on my RR Sport and must admit they're a fantastic tyre, much better than the Conti's that came on the Sport from new.
