Does anyone know whether there's a setting to make the nearside wing mirror dip when reversing? I found it really useful on the Octavia to avoid kerbing wheels...
Not tried it but had a google and suggests it only works on passenger side and you have to select that mirror and its dips when you select R.

Mine got delivered today party

Same issue with the rear speaker grill as mentioned before though not so pronounced. Got them to note it on the delivery note. I wasn't keen on the alloys before but think I'll settle for them in real life.

Also was told it would be driven but turned up on trailer.

Looks good. Is it solid or metallic black? Would have been my preference but unfortunately none available at the time.

If anyone is getting gap insurance ala have a 25% off code via moneysavingexpert up till the end of this month.

I sorted this out at the weekend. It's quite easy after all. You just select reverse gear, then adjust the left mirror on the nozzle on the driver's door, move it to your desired 'looking down at the kerb' position. Then drive in reverse for a short distance. Then put back into drive and drive forwards again at which point the mirror should go back to it's previous normal position. Job done. The mirror will then adjust to look down at the kerb every time you select reverse gear, so long as the nozzle on the driver's door is pointing to the passenger mirror.

Still enjoying the car at the moment. Although using the nav to select a postcode is nigh on impossible - seem to have to input road and then house number instead. Weird.

Nor mine. Loving the car but I don't find the auto gearbox a little sluggish having used the ZF8 in a BMW this isn't a patch on it.

How's everyone else finding the car?

In the MMI settings though there is wireless charging option that is enabled and can turn it on and off so I was confused can't see it mentioned on Audi A4 website as standard or even an option. I know the new shape but 19 model came with it though.

Yeah same with gearbox sluggish it's caught me out a few times even in Sport setting. I've got my first proper long run in it tomorrow 260miles will see how it will try paddles more.

I'm recalibrating my driving style to get used to the slightly laboured acceleration from a standstill - requires more gas than my previous car to make it get a move on initially. It's also a novelty having hill hold which makes it a little odd just stopping and being able to take your foot off any pedals.

I still can't get my head around the nav system though - it just doesn't recognise postcodes whatsoever if you type them into the search box. I'll need to read some more documentation to understand how it works. I also can't seem to just be parked on my drive and tell the nav that my current location is my home address. PRobably user error but it's not a very intuitive system. I've got a longer drive in the car on some motorways tomorrow so I'll see how I get on then and will report back with my thoughts.

Driven mine 610 miles over last few days, mainly motorway with heavy traffic but I got the M6 toll in both ways.

MPG seems good avg 45/46 with 98 unleaded, the engine cuts out if you coast with revs dropping to nothing took me by surprise at first, engine restarts when you touch peddle. I've found comfort setting with sport box suited me best. I heard some of the A4 engines are mild hybrid but can't find much on it anyone know more on it does it apply to 40tfsi ?

Did a couple hundred of the miles at night and ended up switching off the big info screen off as a bit distracting. Also for me the tints are a bit too dark especially at night on the motorway as the view from wing mirrors is not that good due to the design. I had to do a lot of looking around and double checks before changing lanes.

Android auto works well but you can't display the navigation on the digital dash. The Info system voice commands also work ok on the standard Audi system.

Car does feel very solid and well made, performance seems ok but doesn't seem as fast as my old faithful a3 1.8t but probably just my perception / engine on A4 still needs to loosen up.

Overall happy with it.

Did you get the tech pack? I wasn't aware these had android auto! My delivery was delayed due to the Christmas closure so I'm yet to receive mine!

No tech pack or any options on mine bog standard spec, just plugged phone in to usb and it worked though you need Andriod Auto on your phone. Was able to get it to read out Whatsapp msgs and then reply by say msg out loud, google maps, music apps etc

1000 miles in on my 40tfsi Avant BE.

Thoughts? It's a brand new car, generally all new cars are good these days.
It's a new Audi, all new Audi interiors are nice places to be.

Can't help but feel its a little boring though, devoid of character and feel.

I just remind myself it's a no brainer for the money.

Not going to lie but that's how I feel about it to, really wanted an S3 or RS3 but way to expensive for me and I didn't really like the Seat Cupra, for the money though its great place to be can't think of anything else at this price that would compare and its only for 2 years.

I have done about 500 miles in the same model and agree on both points. My Yeti II 1.2 DSG had more character. Still can't figure out the auto-stop where the engine seems to stop and then start again if you are crawling, not seemless at all and end up switching the thing off.

First time it reads out a msg to me it was from my gf she was asking 'when would I be back and could I stop off and pick up some cheese and a BJ at Tescos', she made a typo with BJ and had meant OJ, I was thinking really can you now get a BJ a Tescos lol

I still keep an eye on the Best Lease Deals thread and there is nothing else that has spiked my interest since taking the A4 deal.

Did another 100 miles today on varied roads. To me, it does feels it's size. The visibility isn't great so I'm always a little weary of where my corners are. It does pick up pace rather well and gets to 80+ with ease.

My driving style has adapted to match the vehicles personality - I have become a very steady, considered driver now. When I do try and push the car it's so unrewarding I've stopped bothering. So I sit back and enjoy the nice interior, only the standard audio is a disappointment for me.

Appreciate this sounds negative but this car does everything to very acceptable standard but doesn't really excel at anything.
