That’ll do!
By the time it gets built at this rate they’ll have banned the sale of diesels!

Although I only ordered my Touareg last week I had an interesting update from the dealer below.... I was thinking of adding 4WS to the order but that could mean I would miss out on the possibility of receiving pre allocated stock which hadnt been explained to me previuosly - not getting my hopes up at all though....

'The factory lead time on a Touareg is currently 50 + weeks if it was ordered now, however the car for you was ordered in May 2021 when a batch of ‘limited stock’ orders were allocated to us by Volkswagen so it’s already been in the queue for a while, the build date on that car is currently scheduled for August but it’s unconfirmed so is still subject to change.

The build date could move forward or back before it gets given a confirmed production date from the factory, the build date is usually confirmed approx 4 weeks before production starts, changing colour, spec or any options on an order does generally result in the scheduled build date being pushed back.'

Also I spoke with a decent guy at drivethedeal and he also quoted 12 months minimun wait time for a Touareg

Has anyone seen any in stock TSI Black Editions? I saw spotted a few a couple of weeks ago but wasn't keen, now decided I'd be happy with that over my diesel order. Got an option on a Q7 55 tfsi black edition if not,

Fleetprices had them a few weeks ago but all gone. MPG is pretty shocking in them just as an FYI

So my Touareg BE is up in July, 2 years has gone quick! Has anyone tried to extend their lease offer by a year or two? I’m currently paying £450pm on 8k a year.

You can extend informally for 3 month or 6 months (can be done online I believe) or request quotes for 12 months or above on a formal extension.

I would start requesting quotes now as you are within 6 months from the end and continue to request a quote every 30 days. The VWFS lease extensions are controlled by what I call the random number generator. Remember the kids tv show Bertha? That's how I visualise it!
There often seems no logic behind them.

My S5 was £412 a month. My first two quotes were over £1,000. Then I had around £600, then back up over £1,000 then £374 a month which I took. All quotes were on the same terms, another 12 months with another 10k miles. Mental.

If you have another VWFS car on order you can supply your order number and extend informally on current terms until your new one arrives apparently.

Another cheeky way to drag some extra time out of a lease is to book collection and then cancel, rebook cancel etc. You will be charged same monthlies but could drag out a few more months doing this given collection slots tend to be 3/4 weeks away.

Cheers Simon, I can't seem to find any anywhere so looks as though they have gone. Watford VW have a 0% offer on PCP if anyone is looking, a couple of Black 286 engines left as of yesterday. Decided I'll probably hold out for my original deal now, whenever it turns up, if ever! I do have a couple of Q7 options but not sure I want to spend much more with the impending energy meltdown etc rolleyes The joys of trying to get into a new car at the moment!

Mine is now “in transit from factory”. Seeing is believing, but better than the last update which was basically “no idea where it’s gone”. 5-6 weeks from factory to dealer?
Who knows?
This at least means they are building them, and the pipeline is moving for everybody else. Hopefully.

Lucky! Doesn't make any sense, ordered mine in early July so no idea why the broker is telling me October! frown Hope you get it soon, a result it would seem.

Update from my dealer contact who is wonderful despite this situation;

We took around 50 Touaregs off the VW deal in March 2021 (there were 150 in total I think for the UK). Out of the Listers batch (and I would take the assumption that this is the same for everyone!) I would say 2 have been built so far. A further 3 have been ‘locked’ in to build, but have been locked in for week 36 2021 (September) and still not built.. so around 20 weeks delayed so far.

At locked in stage, they’re usually built to 99% then sat waiting for the final semiconductor parts.. and as we know the black editions have the most out of all cars! So I am just waiting for them to be built and shipped still.

The other 40 odd are all still unconfirmed, moving like there’s no tomorrow, and just carnage.. and the reason why we have had so many people cancel.

Will keep you as up to date as possible - once it’s built 3-6 weeks to dealer currently.

Our current Touareg Black Edition went into VW yesterday for problems with the parkpilot with 360 cameras working intermittently and no beeps from the parking sensors. A software update seemed to have cured it however this morning all the problems returned.

Any current owners experienced this?

Just to update.
Mine (ordered June 2021) has made it to the U.K. and I’ve had some papers to sign. Hoping maybe 2 weeks/ 3 weeks delivery.
Still not convinced it will appear!!

Supposedly I have a car on order that the dealer originally ordered May 2021 but given the update ? below I’m wondering if it’s all smoke and mirrors especially if cars ordered in June 2021 are starting to show delivery progress ???

I wanted to give you an update on your new car, the car is still awaiting a confirmed production date from the factory, it’s currently scheduled for production later this year but the scheduled build date is subject to change until the build date is confirmed. The build date is usually confirmed approx 4 weeks before production starts, once the factory confirm the build date it usually then takes approximately 4 – 11 weeks from production starting for the car to arrive in the UK.

Whilst I’m no expert, you do start to wonder who is telling the truth..
Mine was just via a lease company, who then ordered it.
No favours pulled in, no cash thrown around.
I paid a £250 admin fee and have just waited.
I’ve only really been this patient as there’s nothing else around and it’s become a better and better deal as prices have risen. Still expensive compared to my last Touareg in 2016 which I think was £350 pm!!
