Ok so had a call back from Lex.
The deal will not be honoured due to it being incorrectly calculated. They have instructed the brokers to contact customers affected with alternative products, this could be the same or different vehicles.
My credit file will be restored to the position it was before Lex marked it twice, this will complete in the next 7 days. Lex will send me a cheque for £50 as goodwill to apologise for the error on their side.
Shame as I fancied the A6 but onwards, at least I have an answer directly from the finance provider.

The fact that they are even offering £50 makes me think that you could push this for more as carrying out what in turn eventually became erroneous credit searches are a no no..The deal will not be honoured due to it being incorrectly calculated. If they offer £50 to me I will say it’s not good enough and say they need to do better..

Because they have spent money and time organising a deal only for the customer to cancel, god forbid a business should try and cover its costs, what exactly have you lost by Lex pulling this deal.....nothing.
Well the time between placing my order and then receiving the phone call was 4 weeks, so I've lost a month where I could have signed up for a different offer. If it was a few days or so, I wouldn't be bothered. But 4 weeks? That's why I've complained. And in my opinion, rightly so.
What £500 for a couple of hours work at the very most? Give over. So at this rate, these brokers must all be going bust now with the pull out? Yeh didn’t think so either.
I personally missed out on the jag offer and the bmw 5 series one, which I dismissed to go for the A6. Wasted time organising this deal and the time popping into dealers to look at the car, researching the configurater for my options, paid a fee, submitted documents, so yes I am rightly annoyed like others.
The whole point of the ‘best leasing deal’ thread is just that, finding bang for your buck, so where’s the confidence the next time a great deal pops up?
Agreed, to pull it 4 weeks after everything is signed up is a poor show.
It seem’s you did’nt go for this deal but hope you’re not here just to annoy people and stir up a reaction. I’m sure It won’t bother you if you went through the same scenario, but I somehow doubt that.
Anyway, thanks to all who are providing feedback with their conversation with Lex, much appreciated and keep everyone updated.

Nice assumption seeing as you nothing about me, perhaps I am just not a whining cry baby who feels entitled because the spent some time on the internet and visited a car showroom, get over yourself.I’d suggest Lex have caused a lot of upset and financially brokers have lost the most. All that time spent on admin and processing the order has been for nothing. They would have lost a lot of bonus money from lex pulling it. They had no idea that would happen.
However why not seek compo from Lex. They should pay both the brokers and customers. They’re a huge company, people don’t think twice about getting goodwill compensation from major corporations such as Tesco when they mess up. It’s not like ethically a family business is getting made to pay up
